Voting in someone "because" their black, wouldn;t that be considered racial discrimination?. No one should be voting in based on race. Only thing they should vote on is their veiws, I'm sure there's equally conservative "black" people who could have been elected as "white" people.
For example look at Condi Rice, she's next worst thing to the devil himself. My point is they shouldn;t give a damn about race or nationality when it comes to electing a pope. Basically they should elect the least religious one out of them. Just a thought..... |

Like I said previously, the pope is a symbolic figure, and whatever symbol furthers your cause, (in this case, to attract as many people to the Cathlic religion) you go with. So yes, from their perspective, having a black pope should have been considered since it would have been a great PR move, which is what the pope is afterall (a PR figure). However, it seems that they didn't see it that way, for whatever reason. |

Ah k looking at it from that point of view, I totally agree. I'm looking at the pope and vatican as a government and they should have a better pope, who will actually help the world, not make more cathloics. I'm just thinking that with a good pope in power something good could actaully come out of it. In which case a pope with the right views is needed not one that will simple bring more ppl to the religion. |
