Djs/Producers who shouldn't quit their day job...

The title of this thread may seem a little off but I'll try to explain it as best as I possibly can.

The producers out there that try to dj as well... but just shouldn't. Many of you would say Adam White (and I would tend to agree).

Or vice versa, the djs that attempt to produce but just shouldn't.
I can't think of any one like that off the top of my head.

Ideas below ;)

i was talking to DJ Mason about this, who is a DJ turned producer, and we were talking about it because he had just released a tune, and i was wonderind what he was getting out of it, and he replied, not much.. there isnt that much cash in production unless you are huge and ur record is flying off the shelves, so many producers are forced to spin in order to make ends meet without getting another job, one which may not suit them
ZuLi
all Euphonic artists :stongue: they should stick to producing
that goes for luke chable too....

your friend dj pi or wotever his name is.

some deejays purposely kept dayjobs, just to not get sucked into things. Look at DJ Surgeon, amazing brummie techNO deejay, he still has a dayjob, last I heard. Chris Micali works in IT during the day, he gets to travel more at times, so I'm told with IT. Brad Copeland works as the agent for some Montreal club to get talent or he did..depends if he still is drinking heavily :stongue:. There are a lot of deejays that I feel should retire or have not bothered because they ain't good enough but the biggest name that I think is Matt Darey. Come on Matt, we know you used to be great, you took 2 yrs off to count your money but you kept recycling the same sounds and now its still the same, so get a dayjob matt.

I can see that. I saw Matt spin last summer, and it was uninspiring.

just to add to the matt bashing...saw him at knowwhere last december...and it totally didn't seem like he knew how to use eq's while mixing. very simple xfader mixing was all.

as a producer he still has my utmost respect tho although torontotrance has a point there.

adam white i think has potential as a dj tho, with time i think he could be better then decent.
