| Hey I live down in Buffalo and I make frequent trips up to the guvernment and docks. I actaully just heard about Republik this past weekend. Is this a good place to go up to on a random saturday? How does the size compare to the guv. Is there a trance resident? Basically I am just looking for any info on this place. Thanks! |

....Don't know about Saturdays, but Fridays are live to air with EDGE102. It's one of, if not the only club in the downtown area that caters to rock/alternative, and it's open till 5am.
....As far as I know, it's not a club that regularly caters to the EDM crowd, but I have seen event listings for one-offs. |

Republik has the best lights in the city and a great soundsystem.
Check it out on a special guest night or J00F/Johan resident night. |

They do cater to a EDM crowd.
They have John 00 Flemming and Johan Gielen as residents.
Only on Saturdays though. |

They didnt treat us well by making a lineup at 2 am while it began to snow and then telling us how crazy it was inside.. only to enter upon 20 people dancing on an empty dancefloor to ty tech-house music.
I will never support this club after this bull. |

Ive NEVER had a problem at guvernment...espescially when i get there at 2 am. I do have a problem waiting in line (thats why i go late to these clubs to avoid being a sheep). But if the party is happening or there is a DJ i want to see.... i dont mind waiting. However.,.. what the club did to those people and me outside was outright deceiving.
To add to this joke.. they were giving out free coffee to the people in line... I DONT WANT COFFEE... I WANT TO GET INTO THE CLUB!!!
The guys infront of us in the lineup from Buffalo were in line for an hour and a half. Then after waiting 40 minutes in line.. and letting in bouncer friends... they moved us to a second line.. where we waited 20 more minutes. Then they slowly let people into an empty club.
They treated us like guiney pigs so that the club looked packed from outside. And this is us lining up at 2am. FIRST IMPRESSION WAS NOT GOOD. Bouncers were asswipes.. and i even saw three people arguing with them about wanting thier money back and then yelling at the lineup to not waste our time and that it sucked. I wish i listened to them
Got into the club.. stayed for 20 minutes.. told Swamper my expereince... left to Guv to see picotto that night.

| I was there for J00F and it was great...by 4-5am the place was fairly empty but till 3-4 it was quite full still ;)...great time...slowly they'll bild up the crowds I'm sure...regardless it's a grogeous club!!! |
