Scott Bond vs Solar Stone - 3rd Earth!
I couldnt believe it.Would love to know who picked that one out.Maybe the producer is a trance lover hehe.

Monday Night football uses Darren Tate pres Cota - Waiting
CSI regularly has tiesto stuff - dallas 4pm and his rmx of flesh are 2 i've heard
sky sports use moloko - the time is now
cricket used hybrid - finished symphony for the SA tour and use Matt Darey - Beautiful for the other cricket programs
and many more, it's a nice touch tho |

Golf on Sky Sports uses a silky prog trance track I can't put my finger on, and have been trying to figure out for a while. |

Hearing tunes in the background of TV shows like that makes me dissapointed in the music.
I hear that kind of thing and I dont think background music, I think obnoxious, center of attention, foreground music. I dunno, to me it just offends me to hear a dance tune get shoved in the background of something on TV, almost as if the musician is settling for less then the complete attention of the people.
I mean, I'm all for exposing music to the outside world, but if its gonna happen then it should happen in places where people go to actually hear music. I dont think ppl should be settling for background tunes cuz it leads people to beleive that they belong in the background, and I don't think that they do. But yeah, here in teh USA, the population loves EDM, they hear it everywhere and they eat it up all the time, except for at the places that they go to actually listen to music, in that arena they will hate it, because they think it belongs in the background, which I think has happened because so many EDM musicians have made that compromise and let their go into the background of the TV.
I used to get all excited when I heard a tune I like on the TV, I would point it out to all my friends, 'hey dood, I have this in my car cd player right now!'. But I have changed my mind over time, background EDM suck ass, it's a compromise that I feel like people shouldnt be making with their music.
Also, it makes me look like a retard in front of my friends, because of all the background music, im now 'that guy who listens to stuff from the background of that commercial'. I'm the kid who likes background music, its almost an insult, an affront to the people who actually listen to those tunes, to be squished into that category of 'kid who likes weird background music' just because they showed up on the TV six months after I started listening to the track. It is a bull way to get new listeners, by making the kids who enjoyed the tune in the first place look stupid.
I say we stop listening to things, refuse to buy them, if they wind up being on the TV. There is enough good music out there that we dont have to put up with this crap. We wont suffer from lack of good tracks if we leave out the ones that sell out to the TV. |
