ORKIDEA - 6 hour set in Toronto!! (pg. 2)

I think the consensus is that holding the event during the week will not be a good choice. There will definitely be a larger turn out if Orkidea is brought in on a Friday or Saturday.
The venue isn't a big deal to me other then the fact that the venue must have a top quality sound system. A good system will turn any good set into an amazing one! I guess some crazy lights and lasers will be cool as well :D
As for an opening dj, I don't think there should be one. If Orkidea is spinning a 6hr set he should be able to create the atmosphere that he wants. This way Orkidea can truly see how the crowd is responding to his music, and not to the dj who opened for him. Plus, if the proposed time is from 10pm-4am; that's 6hrs already! There's no time for an opening dj...
Last thing... DEFINITELY 19+ |

umm guys give us youngsters a break
i saw orkidea at state and was totally blown away.
me and my friend are waiting for him to come back but we are under age so plz plz plz plz plz make this an all ages event! besides i dought any other young kids would come on a wednsday.... |

I think Orkidea spinning a 6 hour set will be awesome !!! I'm sooo used to 6 hour sets that 3 just doesn't cut it for me anymore. Wednesday will be a good idea because that way at least the crowd will be honest (no muscleheads and gino's).
Please keep it 19+, nothing against candy kids but having 15 year olds around changes the vibe for me. |

i don't think it'll be tonic people....
the SS boys brought tiesto to the guv on a thursday, and that night was killer.
i actually prefer a weeknight, because if it's a weekend the place will be filled with clueless clubbers who just happen to be there, like they are every week.
weeknight = true fans.
and i for one dig the 19+ vibe these days, so that's no complaint.
as for openers, definitely scaife or dekoze... |

well from my perspective.......and I don't mean to flog a dead horse.......
but weekend...is an absolute necessity..........people work during the week and the weekend.....but mainly during the week so that they have the money to buy orkidea tickets......and other goodies......so what I'm sayin is that I think for the most part.....that alot of us older partyers........have responsibiliies during the week........nevermind the fact that the youngsters.....have school......it makes no sense..........
although I'm sure it's cheaper to throw it during the week........whatever.....I know alot of good people that would die to see him......and yet would be forced to miss it.......and that's unfortunate cause he's amazing.............
anyways.......
true fans...............whatever.............in life we have to make certain concessions......and respect the fact that we exist in this system.......wherien the majority of people work during the week.......that is a fact..........don't go around saying that those that don't come during the week.......are not hardcores.....because you're dead wrong.

ummmm ya right man, u think its easy, when u have 4 OAC courses everyday, and den go out in da middle of da week 2 see Orkidea 4 a 6hr set and go 2 skool da next day? ya right eh? i wudn't be able 2 go 2 skool next day, therefore if i didn't, missed a day of skool, i wud be behind a day :rolleyes: and being behind a day, is a lot in OAC so ummmm ya dat doesn't make sense eh? :rolleyes: maybe skool didn't make sense 4 u, but actually, 4 me skool is always first, den entertainment :eyes: but if Orkidea comes on wed, thur, watever day, ill go :p hehe and go 2 skool next day hehehe :toothless i wont be sleeping in class, but i will be sleeping da hole day when i come home :stongue:

actually......I think you may have misunderstood what I meant......maybe cause it's proper english..;).....
I was supporting the argument that it shouldn't be during the week so that people like you in OAC or whatever could come...without in up your regular life.........

I've heard of 8 hours sets, *I* 'grew' up in Montreal...
2am-10am Sona : Famous Lafleche, XL sets, Max Graham has done several, Laurent Garnier (for Swirl@Sona this year), Deep Dish etc. etc.
