interesting night lol
This has got to be one of the best parties I've been to in a while..
And the only time i stepped into the main room was to go to the bathroom.. :):)
Carlos - I knew you would do amazing :) you always do..
I'll never miss a set of yours. You made a lot of people happy last night hehehehe and thx again for the rose *KISSES* LOL
All the Dj's were amazing and i can't wait for the next Old school party.
I'll try to post my pics up tomorrow when I'm at my house :):)
And as always it was amazing partying with all the TOTA's |

Wow, sorry its taken me so long to post here...my Internet at home is offline for the next week.
First off, a big thanks to all of you who came out! The TOTA support is, as always, amazing. Tara and I had a conversation about this mid-way through the night.
Second: Penny! Awesome! We need to sit down at some point in the near future and start recording some vocals. And we should start looking into doing a proper live PA via Ableton.
Everyone in the front room did a great job and I ended up spending most of the night in there. I'm glad they ended up keeping the room open a bit longer. And a special thanks to John for his hard work in putting this night together.
Finally, from the top of my head, here is what i played (I'm not at home with my records so I might miss a few, and the order is probably wrong).
Rabbitweed - Sasha
Aphroditie - Paris & Sharp
Groove is in the Air (Moonface Unreasled Mix) - Tijuana
Obsidian (PPN VS The Light Mix) - Banco De Gia
Horizons - James Holden
Heaven Scent - Bedrock
Pushing to Hard (Futureshock Mix) - Saints & Sinners
Cowgirl (Futureshock Mix) - Underworld
Doom's Night (Timo Maas Mix) - Azzido De Bass
Wannabe - Shmuel Flash (not old school, but I like the tune)
Blue Bottle - Pob
I know I am missing one or two more, but for the life of me I can't remember what they were. |

Wasn't an extremely late night for me but what I heard of Danny's set was... as some have stated above...PERFECT. Track selection, mixing, programming, build of the set, stage presence... it was all...PERFECT. I have heard and have read alot of comments about how he started off to slow but for those of us who dream about the perfect extended house set you get that Howells' experience is about the whole journey. I believe you have never really experienced perfect peak time until you can look at you mates beside you on the dancefloor, and without a drop of alchohol or any dose of chemicals in your system, at 4:00am say to them "how the F*&%^*$& did I get here?". Banging out the high BPMs early in a set is a mistake that Howells, with his many years of experience, would never make. He grabs you with some sexy warm tunes to start and then extends his arms out with subtle builds that seem to hug you on the dancefloor so that he keeps you there. His ride to the top is a smooth one but when you reach the top Howells never disappoints in hitting you hard. I cannot even begin to explain how smooth the ride to the peak was.
The crowd and vibe on the dancefloor reminded me of the old 1999 System days when the "Breath" night was in its infancy. The feeling of being in your own basement, surrounded by your closest friends loving every second of the night because the music was just that damn good. Mature crowd, happy people smiling their asses off, courteous people on the dancefloor..it was all awesome. I hear there were some messes on the outer edges of the dancefloor and in the front room but it didn't seem to penetrate the main dancefloor.
Howell's Friday night set at System is definitely my favorite set of the year so far. Bring him back please.
Caught most of DJ Science's and Penny's set in the front room. Now here is what I call a 1998-2001 System Soundbar throwback...Doom's Night (Timo Maas Mix) - Azzido De Bass. I remember the first time I heard Max Graham play this in the main room many years ago. I think it may have been the night he opened for Oakenfold at Tonic ...when System was just acting as overflow space. That song kicked my ass all over the dancefloor. Thanks for pulling that out of your box man. Penny, great job on the mic. Can't wait to catch your next live PA.
Caught a few tunes from the other TA sets. Mobius and NuERA definitely had the crowd moving. Looks like you guys had an amazing night on the decks and made the trance kids really happy with some beautiful throwbacks. welldone.
Jenna, always so awesome sharing the dancefloor with you. It was great to be able to spend some of it with Tim and his GF too. By the smile on Tim's face it looked like he had found the gates to heaven. Must get back to Buffalo to see him again. |

The few times I stepped into the main room to chill, the TAs were tearing it up proppa'. I heard some great trance tunes that I never got the chance to hear due to the fact that I was too young to be in the scene.
Thanks a lot guys! |

I was in the front room for MOST of the night. ;) It was unpossible to find anyone in the main room when I eventually ventured in there. |
