Just to state a fact, I don't really like going around and making posts like this.
Well, here it goes. Not many of you here know me very well, I try to post when I can but I always very busy with my own website. By looking in my signature you can clearly see what site it is, www.trancecritic.com It's a website that specifically deals with reviews. I wouldn't be putting myself out here like this is I didn't think this site wouldn't make it, we are comming up on our one year mark (yay!). I've been paying all the bills and keeping this thing moving, but I wouldn't be here if it wassn't for my volunteers. Which brings me to the point of this thread.
The site is growing now, we are patching a few things up currently with secruity, SEO (search engine optimization sp?), and the general look of the site. I've been getting in brand new content to go under the knife but the problem is that I don't have enough reviewers on hand and this that is why i'm posting this, to find more EDM fans whom would like to express their opinion on many variations of EDM, not just trance.
Let me tell you a little bit about our current writers. The lead writer, Sykonee(canada) (frequents this board), has been there sense the beginning. He has expressed interest in the project for many reasons but mainly because he loves the music. Our other man, System-J(England), who also frequents this board is a great writer. They break up and tell each other which reviews are going to get completed for the month and who is doing what - a true team effort.
So all in all we're basically looking for people who apprciate all forms of EDM (not saying you have to like all forms, but accept it for what it is) and have some writing skills. We like to express reasons for feeling the way we do about certain material, not just go off on a tangent flaming music that we don't like. Take a moment, visit the site, and read some reviews to get an idea of where were comming from.
feedback is always welcomed, constructive of course. |

Interesting review of Silence 2004. I must say that a release, whatever the reasons may be for that given release, it's not pointless. That previous remixes of the tune were already released before is not that important. This song is a great one. So it's always going to sell. Can't be mad at Nettwerk for wanting to make many off of it. Let me put it this way: If Nettwerk released another compilation with remixes by DJ Sammy, DJ Mystik, Scooter and DJ Venom, among others, I'd be the first to buy it. That's just how good this tune is.
Plus, this compilation would be a good buy for any person who doesn't already have all those versions.
Good luck with the site. |

Thanks for the input ierxium. It's always nice to hear some type of feedback after putting in all the hard work. If you disagree with the given review that posted on our website, write your own - maybe even a rebuttle (interesting) and we'll post it. In the future as we get more writers on staff and more reviews written, i've thrown up the idea about having one released reviewed by more then just one person. To give each writer their own identity.
As of right now I do have 1 potiental who PM'ed me. While not a "full" time writer, every little bit counts of course. |

| I love to write reviews but I havn't had experience doing it on a track to track basis. If you want to read a few reviews that I've written let me know and I'd be glad to write regular reviews for your site on almost anything :). |

Thats great, i'd love to see samples. In the future we'd also like to review radio stations and live events all over the world (assuming we have people in the area).
We'd also need news people who can keep up with whats new in the EDM scene. There's so much potiental to create a bangin' site :tongue3 |

Edit.
Also if you look at the reviews, that all not done entirely on a track by track basis. I believe in giving the reviewer the freedom to choose their own style of review and their own word count. We also try to put in a little humor and history into each review, so its kinda informational at the same time as an opinion on the given material. |

Your opinions are never wrong. Why don't you read some of the reviews that are posted on this site to get a feel for what type of material were trying to bring to the table, then type something up yourself to see how it comes out.
Generally, we usually like to throw in some artist history, trance history, humor, and/or some other general information. This makes the reviews a bit unique as well as educates some of the newbs who might find their way to TranceCritic.com
One of the objectives to my site is to help turn people on to the music and inform them about the culture and/or past or present artists. It's better then having a whole bunch of newbs running around not knowing what their talking about. |

pretty good, just that the forum looks like a software package. anybody who's everybody can download and have their own forum. thats just what it looks like to me. overall good site. ill join.
EDIT:: when registering, i can barely read the text for what to put in the box. black on dark blue is a bad combination. |
