what can i say. this man just makes you DANCE. isn't that what this musical genre's all about? dancing? it doesn't matter what the style is, howells laid it on THICK. trance-y elements, techno elements, whatever you want, danny threw it down. i have not danced this much in an entire night since... well, howells' closing party at arc last year. jeezus, what minding music this man plays.
biggest TA turnout i've seen a while, great to see everyone's faces out!!!! |

Really wicked sick set by Danny! It was my first time seeing him live and it sucks that I've missed more nights like that. It was pretty cool to finally meet a lot of TA's, everybody was super friendly. :toothless
I didn't know that Danny threw down such hard beats at times. He started off chill and groovin and slowly but surely built from there. Then he rises to a peak and brings it down but still moving and grooving..... and slams you right back. At one point, I was thinking to myself that I had been dancing nonstop for 2 hours without any kind of break so I wanted to go over the rest a little. But as soon as I got there, he drops some more sick cuts and I bounced back up. His set was really eclectic, just whatever he grabbed out of his bag of tricks was working.
I'll be interested to see some of the pics (even if I look like shiate in any of them). |

maann......i can't remember the last time i had so much fun... there were SO many familiar faces - first of all the TA representation was off the meter, it was so great seeing you all!!! i also saw So many old schoolers from boards i used to post on before 2000 (ie ezdreamer, clubplanet, omg!) and lots of rhythmism people of course too... that party was like a reunion of sorts...
goddamn and i can't remember last time i danced so much!! got there around 12:30 and left around 5-5:30, until my feet were killin me! i need to get myself a cute pair of sneaks! :wtf:
, i had so much fun!!! |

Danny was off the hook last night. His set was a million times better than Sander's last week. I didn't stop dancin' from 12:30 to 7:50 and can barely feel my legs now.
Nice seeing Vtec, Joey, Sveta, colibri and the rest. I haven't even slept and I went straight to work. I feel like . Definitely one of the most fun nights I've had in a while. |

Good morning. Yeah, progressive house a-la Danny Howells is something you can really enjoy. And i did!
I got there at 12.00 am and danced non stop till 5 am. First too hours were "too" housy - build up and a culmination - something that bores me in Sasha, but after 2 am Danny started to mix techno and some trancy tunes and it was great - hard, fast and melodic - all in one. After this night i might look different at house music in general.
Great to see some old and new memebers of TA - Brain,Joey, Thero40 with his brother, DJ Tech, Jay, Member of X, LuNaSea and some others. Thanks for your kindness.
Some additional notes:
1. my way to get rid of men (pretend i don't speak English) didn't work as good as in Miami, but still something. Damn men annoyed me soo much last night. pfeeeww
2. Found out that Vtec and I have more in common than we expected hahahah
3. Thero40 finally convinced me that i'm a gay, well... it's a good excuse for my behaviour hahahhaah

here's a review i posted up this morning... holy , what a night. frost and bliss. i owe you my firstborn for the absolute perfection i witnessed last night, and would have MISSED if it weren't for you ;)
DANNY HOWELLS!!!!
GOD DAMN!!!! this guy is a genius! it was my first time seeing him, so i wasn't sure what to expect...
i got in around 12:30-- dancefloor was full, but definitely not uncomfortably packed. he was playing some really chill tech house with a lot of funky beats and melodies. he kept things going steady, and there was not a beat dropped all night that was out of place. from the 1st record i heard, i knew it would be a life-changing experience :)
throughout the first few hours, he would tease in some harder, darker stuff, and then bring it back to the funky side. ing loved it! there were just some tracks that would explode, and then he'd mellow it out-- i've found that sometimes, when a DJ tries to mix it up like that, the flow is sorta disjointed and i can't get into it..but somehow danny tied it all together, and it was just PERFECT.
i'd say around 4-5 he just started RIPPING IT UP! straight up techno, and with a super danceable vibe! he mixed it up with a lot of old school sounding tracks... it was NASTY! :toke:
he closed out the night with some proggy sounds-- but not super epic, just good uplifting fun stuff. the last hour and a half of his set was pure madness... really intense, driving stuff.
throughout his whole set, this was my dance routine:
shake ass to sick track.
hear sick track coming in. goosebumps!
hear the drop....BAM. stop dancing, put hands to head, and wonder what THE #$)(* IS HAPPENING????
i was really impressed last night by the vibe- really friendly crowd, everyone dancing with zero attitude... oh yeah, and the sound system sounded absolutely amazing!
okay i guess that's about it... anyone who was there, you know what i'm talkin about...and if ya don't know...now ya know... |

What a legendary night! I never had so much fun dancing since his last set at ARC. I wish he would have another NYC monthly residency. It was also sweet to see a big TA turnout last night.
I'll post pics later tonight |
