So your saying dancing isn't dancing if you aren't jumping? :nervous:

You think people dance to hardcore?
TrancE951
My simple point is that anyone can dance comfortably up to about 146-147 BPM. Once you start pushing close to 150, then it gets tough to dance in rhythm. If I can do it, and all my friends can do it, then you probably can too! :D
starboy
i like to dance to 190 bpm and uncontrolably slap poeple around like a blithering idiot :nervous:

im sorry everyone..

but do we REALLY need to be having conversations about BPMs?

Unless you are a dj, BPMs mean nothing to you. (not directed to anyone in particular, just using the general "you")

either you like upbeat music, downbeat music or breakbeat music.

i really doubt JOOF or many other big DJS are actually planning out
their BPMs as much as everyone seems to think.

I'm so tired of coming on this board and seeing everyone talk about what DOESNT matter...

Its like we pick apart the music so much that its reduced to nothing and it takes away so much of the fun.

I just cant understand why there is so much controversy about BPM.. seriously...

If BPM is that much of an issue for you, I think you people need to take up DJing...

I mean if you are gonna get that serious about the details, than you might as well dj instead of just chat about it on these boards.

Again I am going to have to go back to the fact that this music is an artform and is not supposed to be under so many guidelines ...

A good dj is a good dj, period.

who the cares about BPM?

I mean really...

If you weren't feelin a DJ set, it is NOT about the BPM, its about the set as a whole.

I try not to get too involved in the quarrels on here but when I saw how far the BPM thing was going, I had to say something...

I just think we all have better things to do than sit on the TA boards and nitpick every single thing about a DJ or their set...

and if people have so much to say about DJs track selection or technical ability etc.. than my suggestion to those people is to start DJing yourself and THEN come back and have these arguments...

BUT, what I think you will find is that most real DJs do not talk or bicker about these kinds of topics...

ironically enough, the majority of these threads and convos are started and fueled by people that dont dj.

...

bottom line, i think TAs should let the DJs worry about what kinda ride they are gonna take you on and how fast that ride is gonna go

and the TAs should do their thing, which is being ADDICTED to TRANCE and fueling the heart of the scene.

anyway i wont go on...

I love TA and all the TAs.. but sometimes I really feel like this board is starting to lose its way...

haha so true, thats why i started to joke about it, bpm's IMO can vary throughout a set, if done right, but im no dj just love the edm.

Thank you starboy!!!

YOu know what Im sayin.

You actually said what I was trying to say in another way.

djs can, should , and do vary their bpm during a set.

all these peeps wanting to be set on one tempo the whole night... dont really get it..

but im glad you guys got what im sayin.

i was hoping it didnt come out the wrong way.
