| This is an interesting thread. I guess I would have to respond by saying its all in my tracklists and emotion. With each mix I try to create a set that carries a certain "feel" to it. By that I mean the unique vibe each set gives and feeding off the vibe the crowd gives back. I believe this is what truly sets a good dj appart from others. Sure you may be one of the best mixers in the world but if you have a sloppy playlist and fail to create emotion in your sets then whats the point. |

This is an interesting thread for sure.
First things first, FreeSoup. Nice site, nice mixes. I would hire you if I was a promoter for sure, same goes for you Stu_Cox. If you are playing gigs it's because you deserve it. I like your sets and they certainly have a different edge to them that make me feel very possitive about the new breed of UK DJ that's coming out.

As for promoting myself, well here goes.
Being involved in dance music since it first started. Played my first live set in the mid 80s and have re-invented myself plenty of times but have found that trance has stuck with me more than any other type of music.
Why would you hire me?
I bring years of experience and really know what it takes to make the dance floor go off!
Perhaps one fo the best kept secrets in the South. ;)
I am confident and relaxed but believe in interaction with my audience and am a firm believer that you need to look comfortable with yourself if you are going to get people to have a good time.
Will be playing in Ibiza this summer as well a the local places that I play up and down the UK. Talk of going to Italy this summer and will be hitting India at the end of the summer.
I will respect music policies as well as time slot, but always try to add my own flavour as much as possible. I will play uplifting trance but have no issues with playing hard and dirty if that's what the people want.
I believe in DJs working together, having fun and forgetting about attitude and ego. Attitude amongst DJs is too much like hard work.
Many places will invite me back for many of the above reasons. Above all else, I love what I do.
Shiny happy

i've got a good variety between playing 'hits' and unknown tracks, from which i tend to use top tracks that are not known by the mass public.
In general, i play tribalish techno with a good drive in it
sometimes im also a 3-deck wizard when i like to :) |

I'm en nuts.
Also, I don't adhere to generic mixing styles. I'm always trying new stuff and layering lots of stuff with the tracks I play. It's taken me some time to get used to doing it in front of people but now it's all good.

I'll have a listen to your demo and let you know what I think. |
Just so you know, that mix isnt my fulls style, I can play warm ups and alot trancier given the right situation.

thanks for the response everyone and thanks for the kind comments Nem :D (cheque's in the post) ;)
Freesoup, you're right: you're not a trance jock at all... you're a techno jock  :D but you say you play trancier as well so I'll take your word for it lol
Liked the demo (only listen to your April demo so far but I'll listen to the others in the next day or two), good mixing and good tunes although I didn't hear any of the technical stuff you mentioned... if you do it live then include it in a demo as that's the best representation of one of your sets someone can have without seeing you live. |
