OK guys, sorry for making a new thread, but I just had to.
My creative zen nx died a couple a days ago, maybe cause Ive dropped it in the ground a couple of times, I dont know... I know I will get a new on the warranty, but ath means I have to wait about 2 months. (currently living in australia, so I have to send it back to norway, then get it fixed and then send it back) by that time I will probalby be home, so jea..
I just cant live without music for about 2 months, thats just impossible, I think I Have to buy a new one, unfortunately :(
so, the question is, what to buy?
NOT IPOD, get away from this thread at this very moment if you even dear me to buy an ipod !!!!! I might go for creative again, but why not go for something new?
I really liked the navigation system on the creative player, and looking for something similar on my new player. i want it to navigate my artist, genre, album and also be able to search for song. very important that I can choose my songs and just drop them into a tempoarily playlist (just like creative's "add to play")
heres something my new player must have
*at least 20gb, hopefully more
*good battery capasity, at least 12 hours
*good navigation
other thngs
*I dont mind size, but preferably small
*dont have to have colour screen, but ok if it does. actual colours costs more, so no colour if absolute needed..
*good transer speed and of course good sound
I guess that covers it, wouldnt hurt if it also had another mic and optical in. I got about $400 but I can spend more if needed
is iriver the choice, or maybe sony. or creative again? |

Get an Iriver.
no exceptions. These babies are voted best in portable mp3 players. A bit more expensive than the average brand, but they give nothing less than superb quality in every department.
I have the iriver cd mp3 player and its lasted me 2 years. And it still looks good as new. |

heres something my new player must have
*at least 20gb, hopefully more - 20GB or 40GB
*good battery capasity, at least 12 hours I've hard charges last more like 16-18hrs
*good navigation Idiotproof. See below
other thngs
*I dont mind size, but preferably small may be a problem. Fits in pocket no problem but it's no Ipod shuffle
*dont have to have colour screen, but ok if it does. actual colours costs more, so no colour if absolute needed..superb colour screen. Can store pictures on it via direct link and makes a great viewing tool if your camera has a e screen
*good transer speed and of course good sound again very fast with drag and drop mp3
I guess that covers it, wouldnt hurt if it also had another mic and optical in. I got about $400 but I can spend more if needed. No optical in and price could be a sticking point. I paid £350 for mine in December and have a feeling prices have come down a lot since then
Navigation is very easy. use the scrolly G-sense pad on the right to choose by album, artist, genre, group or playlist. Idiotproof |

I more or less had the same situation as you just recently. My research led me to the iAudio M3L. Check out this review for details. As far as I can tell it's the best mp3 player out there as far as sound quality (95dB SNR, nice EQ effects, supports FLAC & OGG codecs, ...), plus the battery gets 30+ hours from each charge. The interface is a bit different, as it doesn't have a display on the main unit, only on the remote. I actually see this as a plus -- it's always been irritating to have to pull my whole damn iPod out of its case to change tracks and such.
I can't give you any actual experiential feedback yet, because mine isn't arriving until later today or tomorrow.
Edit: Almost forgot to add that iAudio is notoriously great at frequently updating the software for their players. |

| The creative zen touch and zen micro are very good. Fairly easy navigation system, exceptional sound quality and pretty good battery life. And of course it is compatible with media source. |

iriver h320 or h340 (20 & 40 gig respectively)
im in love with mine, & it seems to fit exactly what youre looking for. a little tough to figure it out, but it quickly becomes intuitive.

I was wondering about the h340 one (bigger is better:)) but is it really that good? how is the navigation, by that I mean what choices and opertunities (spelling?) do I get. the "add to playlist" is VERY important.
If you compare the H3x0 to Ih1x0 (x = 20 or 40 gb model) which one turns out better. is it also standard to get a remote with these players?
good feedback folks
and, I laughed really hard with the "how did you like them appleZ" |

| Why wouldn't you want an iPod? Ease of use? Looks? Screen Display? Please. |
