overall i think Armins ASOT 2005 was good. I enjoy the 1st cd better than the second. I havent heard Tiestos ISOS 4 yet, so i cant say anything about it. From the looks of it... Tiesto and Armin should stick to producing and stop realesing mix CDs

:haha: :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha:

I haven't heard ISOS 4, but ASOT 2005 is great imho, I prefer the 1st CD. It is what it's name suggests, reflection of the ASOT show.
Now I'm sure you'll all disagree it's reflection of trance in it's current status, but I can't help to think if you're judging mixing and track selection which should be easier than producing, that I'd like to hear your mix CDs ?!
Sure some of you may be talented reviewers, but it's just plain obvious that the TA elite syndrome works here in full effect, ie. "it sucks, I'm cool".
Bottom line is I'm sure both will sell pretty well, infact I bought 2 copies of ASOT 2005, and I'm sure that it's both DJs that will have the last laugh.

Here's my quickie review for ISOS4, which I posted in another thread, slightly edited. And I'm not gonna get into an argument about this unless you have damn good reasons for it.

It sucks cock. Utterly tracks, though by today's low standards I guess they're about average. No flow whatsoever, at the start of each CD it's just like jumping directly into the middle of a Tiesto set. Boring mixing, friggin' Sasha could mix a LIVE SET better than this 6 years ago. Chugs along with half-assed climaxes now and then. Too many vocal tracks; female on CD1, male on CD2.

Sounds like an episode of ASOT anyway.

Perfect Silence was an okay finisher for CD1. The only highlight was Netherworld 2005, but you can't really give him credit for that.

TBH ASOT 05 was :(

Poor track selection, although I did like some tracks, though mostly CD1 was very dull with predictable melodies and silly female vocals.

CD2 - Haven't really bothered with it - though I think Ballerina is and ok track.

ISOS 4 - Havent listened, but track selection is poor - though Electric Pulse - White Noise =

Have you listened to some of the previous ISOS's? Sometimes Tiesto would slam the crossfader over. It was never about mixing. It was always about feeling.

It doesn't have that, either. It's just "chug chug chug chug YOU SEEM SO HAPPY WITH HER chug chug chug chug". (that track isn't all that bad though :p )

Are you familiar with the ISOS series? They are more chilled than his other mixes.

Can people stop complaining about Tiesto's mixing in ISOS4! From the magiks to the old isos's tiesto always does a half-ass job when it comes to mixing smoothly. Yet people seem to praise those. Why? Because the TLs for the most part were great. If you wanna complaing about something in ISOS4, shut up about the mixing, it's Tiesto. What we should be complainging about is the two disk idea and the ty tl.

I love both releases but I prefer ASOT 2005 cuz it has better transitions and harmonys..it's almost flawless..
ISOS4.. it's great, too. It's full of solid tunes but I didn't like some transitions..
