Taken directly off his website. To me this is a great step for music as I believe just the same as him; you don't need drugs or stimulants to have a good time.

Disneyland Resort Paris
Tiësto - 2005-04-20

Hi everybody,

I just came back from my Disney weekend. What can I say? WOOOW!!!!

When they first asked me to play at Disney Paris I actually wondered how that would be like. It is kinda different to perform in a place like that, and so I didn't really know what to expect. After showing me the large production they could set up, my viewpoint immediately changed.

And, I also thought that it would be a good chance for me to raise my profile in France, as I never played there before. So now I could come and do my debut performance in France, in Disney Resort Paris, with a top-class production stage, and 500 journalists, 15 camera teams and 7.500 people attending from all over Europe…

I didn’t know what to expect from the crowd, it could be between 7 and 77 years old! But it wasn’t, it was a great crowd and they went off on every track I played. Imagine, April 16th in Paris, and an outdoor party... It was only 10 degrees Celsius, there was no alcohol available and 7.500 people were still going completely bananas!!!
I thought that was absolutely awesome! And it shows finally, that you CAN enjoy electronic music without any stimulances and still have a great night! Finally we can leave that image behind that you need any kind of drugs to enjoy electronic music, and we had all those journalists present as witnesses.

So please, stop asking me questions about the relation between drugs and electronic music because with this show we've proven you can enjoy a good party being just as you are! Big shout out to Disney for giving me this great opportunity! Thanks to everybody who was at the show, you are real party people!!!

Love,
Tiësto

Alice in Wonderland Syndrome:

Alice in Wonderland Syndrome is a rather peculiar disorder that certainly befits its title. It was given its name due to the fact that the syndrome's symptoms are remarkably similar to the distortions in body image and shape as experienced by the main character in Lewis Carrol's 1865 novel "Alice in Wonderland". Objects either appear to be much larger (macropsia) or smaller (micropsia) than normal, and there is usually also an impaired perception of time and place.

One woman with the syndrome even described how short and wide she felt when walking, calling this sensation the "tweedle-dum or tweedle-dee" effect. The disorder has been closely linked to migraine headaches, a problem, incidentally, that Lewis Carroll suffered greatly from. This has led some scholars to suggest that the author may have experienced the syndrome himself.

Other associated conditions include epilepsy, Infectious Mononucleosis, and viral infections such as Epstein Barr virus (the most common cause of Infectious Mononucleosis) and coxsackievirus. Psychotropic drugs may also play a part, as evidenced in the novel when Alice ingested the cake which resulted in symptoms remarkably similar to those brought on by hallucinogenic-containing mushroom fly agaric or amanita muscara).

Some Japanese doctors have even stated that some of the ingredients of cough syrup could also cause Alice in Wonderland symptoms, although further studies need to be undertaken on this matter.

This is exactly why I do not do K - tweedle dum indeed!!! I called it star-fish man syndrome - as you feel that you are walking with a starfish body - not a good feeling - do not recommend it!!

Hello people !!

Edm will always be associated with drugs, it goes together. anybody that has done E and been to an event will agree with me, the music makes much more sense on E ! !

some people don't need drugs to enjoy great music, nothing wrong with that, and most of the time you miss out on more while on drugs, due to the fact that you forget your pleasures, so there is nothing lame about Tiesto right there, infact I have more respect for him right now.

as for EDM being assocciated with drugs, well people do drugs in top 40 clubs too.

One thing I do give Tiesto props for is that he's been "#1 DJ" for 3 years in a row now and he still continues to try new things. True, he's no longer the stereotypical "DJ", but he's now evolved into an "entertainer".... more like a rock star than a disc jokey. I think this is an essential aspect of the evolution of the music industry and he's doing a great job of pushing the limits rather than just sitting back on a throne like Oakenfold did a few years back. He may be a commercial DJ, but at least he's still evolving and continuing to bring EDM into the public eye.... that says a lot about him right there...

With that said, it would be a strange event that I'd go see him play again. There's FAR more talented DJs out there with better mixing techniques and a much better track selection. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to start an argument about Tiesto's talent, what I'm saying is that for my money, there's just better options. Tiesto is nothing more than "the most popular dj in the world." I think it's easy for most people to be side-tracked by the twinking lights and hype about a big name DJ. "ooooooh, ahhhhh... #1 DJ in the world...." but we all know that list is bull anyways... it simply proves marketablility and popularity rather than talent... those that think otherwise should understand perfectly well why Benny Benassi, ATB, and Darude are in the top 20 ;)

that was the most sensible comment ive read on these boards in a long time ... its good that tiestos trying new things but its clear now he wants to get his name out there and cater more to the commercial eye... i remember ppl telling me when tiesto came to the kool haus couple years back when he became number one that they were eminem lookalikes in line saying i hope this piesto guy spins some wicked hip hop ... lol its a shame but il prolly be there the next time tijs is in town ...

lol i just noticed tiestos wearing a tony montana shirt in the pic

i'm sorry to say this but coming from tiesto, this seems a bit stupid. it has no meaning.
