It's way more than just the music to me. If it's just the music, I can stay home and listen to 1000 mp3's I got. Plus, I go out a lot. I've seen Sasha 10x so it has to be more than just the music to get me going. Although a DJ on his game can make me forget about a lot.
Friends, music, atmosphere, vibe, crowd, pricing, staff, more... It's all important to me. And I'm not overly stringent... just have seen better. |

High ceiling & a narrow dance floor = bad acoustics
... the only thing crobar has going for it is its size and that they have Hernan :D |

Dude there isn't anywhere at Guvernment to sit down either in the main rooms.....same as Crobar. There are plenty of places to sit down at Crobar....up in the vip section (which isn't hard to get into with all the guest lists going around now);) |

| I went to a Boris show a few months ago. He turns the volume up to almost double the normal sound of other events. I thought it sounded great and was disappointed when other DJs left it at normal volume. So I doubt you'll be seeing any changes in the normal volume level at Crobar. |

When the DJ booth isn't on the stage in the main room, there used to be sofas and plenty of areas to sit at Guvernment...i used to go straight to the stage to claim my spot for the night in prev. trips to Guvernment. I prefer that to the crowds on the floor...from the stage u get to see how LARGE Guverment's main room truly is. |

I planned a SB trip with my GF all around lake ontario and Guvenrment was on the list when we stopped at toronto.
my review
It looks like a big factory outside with the words guvernent and I think they have a side club because they had two events that night(I went when picotto was on in march). The line was not too bad like a medium size NYC club line(5-10 min)Price was 20$ can. When I got inside the music was grooving and mad people were dancing. Huge open room not too huge like ceiling is up to the 2nd floor. There is a upstairs to the right of the dance floor if I recall. I did not stay long because my GF was afraid of getting stabbed with a needle. Lets say she is not a fan of big clubs with lots of people around her. LOL. But from what I saw it was respectible:cool: |

Sander K/Nic Fancilli, Sasha/Zabs, Digweed, Deep Dish, Oakey, Ferry, Hernan Catteneo, Erick Morillo, James Lavelle/Junkie XL, Victor Calderone....
Nothing average about that!!! |
