However, Beckham is far behind golf's world number one Tiger Woods, who earns €66 million a year. Seven-times Formula One world champion Michael Schumacher is the second highest paid sportsman with €63.5 million.

LOL!!! As opposed to driving F1 cars?

And what I don't understand is how 5 of the top 10 play for RM but MU is the #1 sports club in the world in terms of revenue. How the hell does RM pay for all of this?!?!

Man U is the richest club but being a PLC their expenditure has to be limited ...Being a privately ownded club, Chelsea actually have the maximum spending power with face abramovich buying whatever he pleases

I think Real Madrid get major loans from the city of madrid to finance their team ... I dont think any club can afford to pay over a 100 million pounds on 2 players within a year like madrid did for Figo and Zidane

Real Madrid is the second club after Manchester United in earnings so...it's not that big of a deal they are not that far apart...

Annual income for 2003-2004 according to BBC

1 (1) Man Utd £171.5m
2 (4) Real Madrid £156.3m
3 (3) AC Milan £147.2m
4 (10) Chelsea £143.7m
5 (2) Juventus £142.4m
6 (7) Arsenal £115m
7 (13) Barcelona £110.1m
8 (6) Inter Milan £110.3m
9 (5) Bayern Munich £110.1m
10 (8) Liverpool £92.3m

Multiply each value there x 2.5 and you'll get it in CAD!
