Really? What exactly is wrong? |
|

| I don't think it's the search that's FUBAR, rather the users who don't know how to properly define their search parameters. |

just do this:
go to google
type site:tranceaddict.com on the search box and hit the search button
it's faster than searching on TA |

Google doesn't have all the threads.
Search works remarkably well - as long as you are not searching for all posts by a user - AND - as long as your search term is somewhat unique
Tiesto is a bad search
Trance is a bad search
Tiesto Trance is a bad search
Tiesto Trance Disney is a better search
etc. |

vBulletin forums run into speed issues after you pass about 2 million posts - feel free to go to any of those forums above. You'll find that they don't even have Search on the menu, or, when they do - most of them require you to register before you can search.
You can go to www.musicianforums.com/forums and try to do a search for music - it'll just return a php error.
Sorry, maybe I'm not in the mood for your anal sarcasm - but you should be aware that vB has always had problems with searches for popular terms - TAs search is better than most as it's extremely hacked and uses MySql's full text feature rather than vB's way of indexing. |

| TA's search has always worked more or less great for me. You just need to know how to define the searches.. People in threads complain all the time 'they tried the search and didn't find anything' but when i try to find the subject they are posting about, in 99.9% of the time i find the results he/she/they could have found as easily if just put some thought to it. There are many options to try when searching. Use them people! |
