I totally agree with this accessment, but to add, Sennheisers also have a tendency for the headband to crack (not break).

I know my next headphones are gonna be the Tech's, unless something new comes out to blow me away sometime soon.

i've used my mdr-v6 for close to 3 years now...and they are still as good as new....not fancy looking....but definitely quality soundwise and stand the test of time

I have a pair of teh Pioneers right now and love them. the sound is very tight, no complaints. I used to have the older, smaller technics headphones which I was in love with. Nice and light, not clunky like the new ones they came out with.

i have the audio technica's i dont think its available in the states or maybe i just couldnt find a link to them.... lightest headphones ive ever used and cant really complain about the sound quality. akko's mom's picked me up when she went to japan.. for only like $60....

i'd recommend the sony mdr-900.... never seen anyone that broke this model... usually the 700's break like a mothaa....

lee,

sennheiser hd-280 is what i've been using this past year. its true the headband of mine did break, but u can get replacement parts for them. all i can say, is that they sound really nice and crisp. all the sony's, except um.... that one model the 7506's, those sound nice (i haven't tried the 900's yet). hd-280's swivel, are somewhat light and comfortable. only negative really is that it lacks somewhat in bass because it gives a flatter more accurate sound, but thats not really a negative by me cuz i produce also, so its better for monitoring. don't get those pioneers, lol... waste of money. people who swear by them haven't heard good headphones b4... lol.

as for the hd-25sp, don't get those. if ur gonna go for the hd-25's get the hd-25 pro. i haven't tested them yet, but its supposed have great sound. those will probably be my next pair....
