CDJ vs. CDX

just wondering if anyone can help narrow it down between these two cd players as far as features and overall performance. I've only been mixing vinyl for about a year and wanted to get familiar with the cd aspect of it. I bet they're both great consoles, but I guess my question is that if so many ppl rave about the new technology of the cdx and its 'feel' why aren't they more popular at clubs or DJ's first choice. CDJ's seem to be the standard.
Thanks in advance for any feedback |

| there still too new to be generally adopted not to mention most dj's are used to the cdj feel and so to change it all around would be a hassle just like to have to change from viniyl to cds suddenly one night would be damn hard. |

| That Numark thing is a gimmick I think. Unless you're a sratch mixer, having that plastic record on top of a Numark TT is retarded. Not to mention the pitch step is only .1%. |

If you wanna scratch, go for the CDX.
If you wanna mix smoothly, go for the CDJ. |

Oh, and FunKenLouis, he didn't mean that the pitch range is 1%. He meant that the pitch step is .1%! Which it IS. It is very difficult to perform a smooth mix with that. Yes it's still possible but when you compare to other CDJs with .02%, the CDX sucks.
The DN-S5000's offer both. You can scratch with them (the platter actually moves, unlike the Pioneer CDJs) and the pitch step is .02% |

lol, getting a little defensive are we? Second of all, re read what I said...it has a pitch step of .1%, not 1%. I'm happy that you're happy with your Numarks, but as everyone else seems to agree on, the cdjs are much better decks....club standard, dj standard. :haha: |
