However there are a lot of LSG tracks, Paragliders - Change Me and others that I've listened to and didn't like much at all. On the other hand, Substraumbulism, Lost Vagueness, The Fade and Netherworld are some of my favorite tracks ever.

You can also try to put in perspective of the amount of releases Lieb has had over the past 15 years, there are bound to be a few ones. But the majority are not, from back when he was releasing as Spicelab, LSG or as Lieb I have always heard 90% or better quality productions. And most of the stuff I didn't like first time, usually grows on me until I do like it.

And he has done it covering many genres too. Not many artists can boast the success he has had.

Anyway, not criticising your opinion, just stating my own. <3

Listening to 'The Last Supernova' now. <3

off, after you probably Discoged it. :p
I'm good at spelling, but I can never remember that one. :stongue:

I forgot about John Graham. He's one of my favorites, from his work with Tilt, as Space Maneouvers, and some of his Quivver works. Andy Moor is extremely consistent too. Sasha is up there on my list of consistent producers, as well.

I know you weren't disagreeing, and I still think he might be the best producer ever, but I don't like all his tracks as consistently. :D

I understand the purpose of the thread, I am just wondering if you are getting back "true" results. Saying wether or not a prducer is consistent is highly subjective. As one person stated, there's a fine line here that is easily crossed between saying producers you love and can't get enough of, and those who you dislike, although may favor a few songs. Could you also say that "inconsistency" when it comes to producing is simply degrees of expirementing. For example, you could say Radiohead is "inconsistent", but I don't think it's answering your question. I believe you are asking for producers that produce good tracks sometimes and bad tracks others. As we all know, not too many people can come to an agreement about what is good music and what is not. Thus, this thread can be debated until the end of time while making no progress at all. Yet, here I am. I've wasted five minutes of my life writting this.

What's the difference, really? You know I'd let you sit on my face any day ( :wtf: !!!), but I think you're wrong this time. ;) Obviously your favorite producer isn't going to be someone who has only put out a single good track, but someone who is consistent.

Like, for example, say Space Manoeuvres - Stage One is my favorite trance track, but Quivver hasn't put out as much other stuff that I like as much. That means he's not my favorite, and inconsistent. Oliver Lieb on the other hand... I like pretty much every track he's ever produced. That makes him my favorite, because he is consistent.

You can't say a producer who is not your favorite, is the most consistent, because it's all opinion in the end.

I disagree.

Just because someone is consistent, doesnt make them my favourite.

Alot of my all time fav's are sporadic offerings from various artists.

The only Matt Darey production I truely love is his remix of Wizards of the Sonic, and it's my number 3 of all time, but the majority of his other tracks just don't do it for me, making him inconsistent.

Ditto with PvD's remix of 1998, not a huge fan of his other stuff bar his Cream and Love Stimulation remixes.

I fully concur that Hybrid are consistent, and been at it for years.

I find Phynn inconsistent, some stuff is brill, some stuff really doesn't do it for me.

In fact, I havent seen many consistent people to my tastes since Flutlicht, everyone since then has been hit & miss.

I would say that Active Sight are very consistent - their tracks are all pretty similar in style (and I like them :haha:)
Inconsistent - no idea

vrahnos
dont know if i got it right > (consistent is someone who has the same style, ex: when a track is to be id'ed everyone says :this sounds like tiesto: , incosistent is someone who's changing styles? right?)
if so, then:

Most currently consistent producer(s): fred baker, dave 202, dj isaac, talla 2xlc
Most consistent of all producer(s) of all time: talla 2xlc, blank & jones, kai tracid
Most currently inconsistent producer(s): tiesto, solarstone, matt darey
Most inconsistent producer(s) of all time: ATB

That just means he's the producer of your favorite track, not your favorite producer.
