Just thought I'd throw a general question out there, no need to give any specifics as to bank balance, account, etc. unless you want to
(Which in that case you can just PM me) |
the other bank charges u because they have the right too .. and ur bank charges u because there's a cost involved when having access to the Interac Network to accomodate your withdrawl ..

just closed my line of credit with TD, my TD Visa, American Express and Royal Bank visa.
I have an account with Laurentian bank, a Laurentian visa and loan with National Bank. ING account in the house too :)
As soon as I can close my scotia car loan, i'll do it and switch it over to National Bank. |

between you and me, those charges are a scam ;) Its the principal reason why banks are creating record profits. It cost a hundred time less to make an operation with an ATM than with a human being. There's absolutely no reason to up the prices on their "packages" the way they do. |

Savings,Student Loan, CC#1: TD Canada Trust
Checking: PC Financial
CC#2: CIBC
I only got 2 credit cards because I know the best way to get higher limits is to say "well my limit at THIS bank is $___, can you beat that?" Other than that, they just stay filed collecting dust. |

i'm sure they make far greater money from other lines of business than what they earn from ABM withdrawls thru retail banking .. those charges are in place to deter u from using other bank's machines as well. anyways if it can be avoided then avoid it .. i love how TD machines are everywhere to be honest :D

I have an account at BMO but don't really use it
I use TD
I hate TD
TD gave me access to someone else's account and tried to cover it all up (long story)
TD gave pre-approved me for a 14 000 LOC, that's more than my income for at least 2 years combined
TD gave me $1000 towarrds my tuition
I still hate TD |

i don't think they do, personal banking is their cash cow, all these 7-8$ everyon pays per account adds up man:)
ALSO, if you ever plan on getting a mortgage or an important loan, you need to check your credit scores right now! Close every card you don't use, lower the remaining limits and check your credit report asap for any errors (equifax for example).
Even tho, I have a 700s credit score(very very good) and R1 (best score possible, never missed a payment), I had an abysmal lending score or whatever its called because I had many unused credit cards with high limits and a good sized debt (student loan, car).
It takes about 2 years for your scores to adjust once you close all your unused cards. So think about this if you're planning on buying a house.
