Guy the only reason you don't hear any crap from stanton tables is because a) Not very many people spend top dollar for str-150's when then can save alittle more and buy a technics. And b) after 30yrs of being on the market technics actually takes pride in thier product. you don't see them making numark tt-1650 type tables or gemini quality tables.

anything i bought from stanton broke or sucks... the stanton pro dj 3000 broke on me in 3 weeks...

and i know some people who want tables can't afford tech's but in my honest opinion i would save up for tech's, and if it would take me a year to do, i still would. cause in the long run, u keep buying lesser tables you'll end up spending more than buying a set of 1200's.

Different companies make lower spec TT's as they know they will do better in that area of the market and at the end of the day it is probably the reason they have the cash to try and make their higher spec TT's for the top end of the market.

If they kept trying to make Technics spending the same amount of cash Technics do to build a 1210/1200 and then retail them at the same price which Technics do, they would have been broke a long time ago because most people would take a look at it without even using it and say "No good, its not Technics so why fix it if its not broken" (sound familar people)

These lower end decks which crap out break etc are not made for clubs or seasoned djs and never will be they are there for beginners or people that cannot like you say afford technics but want to try to Dj because like you and me have a passion for music.

When I first started mixing I got myself a set of Numark tt1520's these TT's where made of palstic had 1kg torque/power, if I took the lids off when I played on them I got feedback through the spaekers they where direct drive I'll give them that but most importantly they spun round at different speeds and had a pitch slider.

My whole setup cost me £400 back then, 2 TT's and a 3 channel mixer + hp's which would have been the same price as 1 Technics TT, but I could mix the music I wanted to and didn't give a .:D

i'll sell you my TTX1s for £300 (1 year old, mint condition)

just need to figure out how to get them on ebay...

I've had my TTX's for over a year now and have no problems with them and I absolutley love them. You know what you should do though?? Try the decks out for yourself. It's all well and good to listen to 30 people's opinions on a message board, but nothing beats using the product yourself.

one reason i got technics are becasue they are known to be reliable. Yes i was a beginner and had NO clue whatsoever how to mix songs or anything like that but the fact that if i bought technics i would be abvle to sell them to somebody else without loosing very much money. i was considering buy this other turntable but decided against it as its ahrder to sell on ebay or such.

Stanton use to be known as a great company for carts that always made the best carts. Everyone always had technics decks and stanton carts. They got allot of there money and fame for there carts. Then, they decided to hit the turntable market. i think it was a smart move. look at allot of hip hop dj's. Allot of them use st8-150's couse they can scratch better. I never see hip hop dj's with a numark turntable.

The stanton is so much money because they spent allot of money making this product. This baby is full steal production and very solid.

Have you ever used a st-150? I used many turntables before at guitar center and they let me play around with them often. I am very impressed with the feel of the 150. dont get me wrong, the technics is number one for sure and there is no way to stop that unless you go to the future in 15 years and see if this 150 is stil strong.

If you're going to do something foolish and buy something other that Technics because of the price when you can get a perfectly nice set of used Techs for less than a new pair of TTX, 150s then do yourself a favor and please look at the Vestax decks. My mainstay is turntablism and I can tell you if they used Vestax at the DMC then I would too. I really wouldn't poke any other deck with a stick given the choice.

Spot on, top of the range Stanton and Vestax TT's are most popular with scratch dj's. They make very good tables which are in the same price bracket as Technics and TTX because they are made to the same standard.

I'm not so sure I'd put Numarks in the same class as Vestax. That kinda makes the baby jesus cry ya know.

Shmeh... Each to there own... Personally i brought the stanton 150's and dont think i will regret my purchace... I spent the same amount that i would of on a pair of 1200's... i prefer the feel and the pitch control and usability is just as nice as tech's, anyway your basically having a go at technics when you speak poorly of the 150's the motor inside them is built off technics design... If you dont beleve me pull the platter off a 150 and a 1200 and compare for yourself... Technics didnt renew there patent a while back (they figured we are in a digital age so theres no point)... Those here who have acctually mixed on 150's will notice besides the torque they feel quite similar.

The only reason they use technics at dmc is because they sponsor the competion each year... personally scratching on a vestax is like a dream but i dont enjoy mixing on them the 10% is a bit strange... so i wanted the best of both worlds and got a pair of 150's

Ive mixed on ttx's and didnt really enjoy the expererence truthfully... but all in all there a rather solid and heavy deck... As far as iam concerned most tables mentioned here are good quality it more comes down to where you want to go and how far you want to take it... I have no problems mixing on tech's and my mate who is 100% technics only quite enjoys mixing on my 150's and has no problems ajusting... i dont know anyone that owns a pair of newmarks so i cant really commment...

Hmm...well, once again, fellow Techno DJs agree [me and Timski]

I own Stanton 100's, and I love them. I can mix on techs completely fine, and I feel like the 100's are even better than techs when it comes to features.

Only thing is... Im used to more than 8% pitch :whip:

Listen, there is a reason that the 1200s have been around for over 30 years. Nothing can beat them as of right now. Quit sucking Stanton's dick just because you own some Stanton decks; have you even PLAYED on any other decks (specifically Techs)?

It's like saying "Yeah, my Taurus is way better than your Ferarri."
