Failure to Stop at Red Light

I recieved a non expected letter in the mail today. I'm to pay $351.00 for a traffic violation. But the name in the ticket is my brother's. So they got that wrong. And I'm here trying to study for three exams I have tomorrow. Plus I'm doing other stuff/planning/packing/etc. for the trip to Mexico. I leave Friday.

Anyway, here are the pictures:

The car with the red circle is mine. I've done this turn tons of times, on different locations of course, most with cameras too, but I got a ticket on this intersection. It seems I made the turn too fast. I saw another driver ahead of me do a faster turn. I wonder if s/he got a ticket too.

Do I have a chance fighting this? Do I even bother? Do I just let my brother take care of it?

its a right on red, though. if there was no sign, you should be cool.

It was a right! RIGHT!

as long as there was no "no right on red" sign its fine unless your city has a law already. My county nassau does not have a no turn on red policy so its good unless there is a sign that says do not turn on red. In the city(NYC) you can't turn anywhere on red.

Even a left on red(one way ave):p I do it anyways.

Don't they have those invisible liners that you can spray on your license plate so that camera's only get a glare in these situations?

Totally legal (they sell it at your local auto stores).

Aussie roads are a little different to this setup. A 'turn right' lane usually has it's own set of traffic light or a separated lane (usually separated by a small island) & a sign that says "Turn Right with Care" or something like that.

In that pic I only see an arrow sign & 2 red lights. This to me says you ran a red light. Well that's how I interpret it.

There was no such sign. You can see the other cars on the far right lane are also making a turn. This is nonsense.

And I didn't know about the invisible liners. :)

It seems illegal to me though. And I already got the ticket so there's no point in getting one now.
