My boyfriend and I are coming to Toronto next weekend to celebrate his birthday. I would like to take him to a nice restaurant before we go out, but don't know of any!?!?! If anyone could reccommend any, I'd really appreciate it!

I always love Hey Lucy on King St.

Its an ultra funky pizza and calzone place with cool apps and
its pretty inexpensive.

Excuse me? "The Great One" burger is AWESOME and chicken fajitas are just like you'd find anywhere. You don't go to this place for fine cuisine. :P

True but the impression I got was they wanted to check out somewhere half decent for a meal. There are lots of better burger joints in the city man at a fraction of the cost, attitude and waiting time as well! LOL

Gretzky's is a tourist trap for Yankee's

LOL!!! True DAT but if the guy's a hockey FREAK (which all Canadian males are) this is a must-go at least ONCE...especially if you want to go out for a bday and are willing to spend the extra $5 for a burger...LOL! I think it was $10-12 for the burger, incl. fries...

EDIT:
More sandwiches...Reuben S (on King St. east of Peter--good call on the location, Trick) best Montreal smoked meat in Toronto...abt. $15-20 per person, and you will not be able to finish the combo (unless you starve yourself before going, then maybe you can eat 1/2 a second sandwich ;)
