| is it possible to *cure*, or should i say.. reverse gayness / sexuality. The reason i ask is that i have a friend who doesnt like being gay at all. everything about them says they are hetrosexual, apart from who they are attracted to sexually. they asked me if it can be cured, but i said i doubt it because it's a gene, right? and even if it was, wouldnt that be weird waking up one day and liking the opposite sex... |

Having any kind of issue with gays simply reveals you have old cultural programming that you haven't gotten rid of yet.
It is equivalent to having a problem with jews or blacks or whatever. You imagine that the reasons you have a problem with them are real, and then history motors on and reveals those reasons to be false.

Why is this even a big deal? Straight people and gay people are making a huge deal about this.
I mean. Choosing your mates is like choosing what type of music you listen to. Pretend most people like hip hop. Then there are a few who like awful (to hip hop people) country music. I mean why would you actually HATE someone who likes different music? If I had a friend who liked country music, that's some part of him I don't like, but i'm still gonna be his/her buddy. Hell, if homosexuality wasn't such a big deal, i'd playfully make fun of him for liking the same sex, just like I would make fun of my friend who likes fat chicks, or my friends who are into Anime and RPGs, but since it's a huge deal I wouldn't do it.
As for homosexuality being natural, i'd say bisexuality is more natural. Homosexuality goes against evolutionary theory, so does bisexuality but since humans are naturally curious and permiscuous that tends to happen on accident.
And for conservative religoius people, they aren't doing their duty as Americans (it's pretty big problem in the bible belt of America, dunno about the rest of the world, hey IM AMERICAN't!) by going against gays. It kind of contradicts what we are supposed to be about (some will say that's not what we're about but YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN so stop complaining you left winger nut hugger), and that's freedom. |
