The Turntable Thread to End All Turntable Threads

So, you are thinking of buying a turntable, eh? thinking of posting a thread asking all of us TADJs what you should buy? since most of these threads start out something like Technics vs. Whatever, I am listing all of the turtables in the same pricerange as the techs.
this thread is not for the beginner on a budget, this is a thread for the person who logs on and wants to see what the majority of TADJs prefer. the question has been asked and answered so many freakin times. and there are allways those guys who swear for and against the techs, and we get the occasional flame war.
i just want it to stop, i want the techs vs. whatever threads to stop cloggin up the board, and i want there to be ONE spot where people can say what they like and why, and people can read it and make up their own mind. and the flame wars just gotta go.
please guys, vote for what you like. let us know what others you've used, and why you chose the decks you did.
for me it was simple, my first decks were 1200s, the decks i use now are the same 1200s, and the last decks i will probably use will be the same damn 1200s. they will last me forever, i dont have to worry about them, and i love them to death.
i use and vote for 1200s
my goal in this thread is to ELIMINATE the every other day turntable thread that i know we are all sick of replying to. |

| I'm out from the flock here and am voting TTX, of course the Techs are good too. We really should get this sticked as well. It seems like every month or so we have a Tech vs. X thread. |

what about beginner dj's on a budget? the poor sods who dont have more money than sense and so need to ask opinions on a second-hand setup theyve found on ebay (like i myself did)
wheres the 'i cant afford any of these - can i still post n00b questions' option |

I agree. For some people, buying the best decks simply isn't a possability due to, say, financial reasons. I think their should be three polls, one for budget decks, one for average decks, and one for high-end decks. |

I don't really think a poll woudl end all the threads. Maybe a post explaining....objectively....the pros and cons of each table. that way they check th ethread and decide for themselves instead of relying on anonymous votes.
:wtf: techs pn though :wtf: even though thats all Ive used. |

Techs...
ebay usually has some good deals for beginners looking to get techs...i got both of mine (SL-1200mk2) w/ a ok'ish mixer for $700 off ebay..same price as the Stanton starter pack that I got from guitar center. turns out, i sold those tables and the mixer within months for around $200 because i hated them so much...i strongly agree that you should save up and buy quality the first time around (table-wise at least)!! |
