WOW, what a night!! Got to avalon @ 12:30 after a little bit of a wait because there were so many god damn 16 year olds from prom.... anyway tony draper was spinnin and his set wasnt bad
highlights: Roman Flugel - Geth's Noch + Soul Central - Strings of Life (Danny Krivit Mix) @ the end

Judge Jules came on @ 1:30 and ripped it right from the beginning, it was my first time seeing him and he was kinda weird when he was DJing, he looked like a spaztik monkey but he was amazing. he played pretty hard and played some very good tunes, cant ID most of them but whoever didnt come out to see him should have, he OWNED ME
Highlights of his set:
Freefall - Skydive (??? Mix)
(Can anybody tell me what mix it was)
Coldplay - Clocks
Alter Ego - Rocker
Tiesto - Adagio for Strings

++++ many others but i cant remember right now
anyway he played til 4 and i got to take a picture with him, and got to talk to him outside when he left
will post pics later when i get home from work

All in all, it was Def. worth the $25 and i can't wait to see him @ Eden!

BTW..... why do good DJ's still play Traffic????

abso-ing-lutely amazing last nite.... the place was packed out... i agree, there were way too many drama queen 16 y/o from afterprom, but , everything made up for that haha... Draper's set got me dancing my ass off....

...Jules came on around 1:30, i was expecting a more trance and uplifting set, and to my amazement, he started it off with really energetic housey stuff, i was really really really loving it... the place was absolutely packed, i coulda done without the winy 16 y/o that have never been to a club b4 tho, just clogging the walkways and stairwells and acting stupid and falling all over the place and what not... but, everything made up for that, the night was a blast, i think Avalon's coming back again, i had a lot of fun the past 3 times i went there (J00F, Marco V, Jules), no complaints really.... overall, a good night, i took a few pictures (on my friends fone) so ill have them up wen he wakes up :)

btw, can u ID the last track Tony Draper player, it started off house and then it had this harrrrrrd hardstyle beat as the buildup went on, really sick ... it was Draper's last song and then Jules came on.... also, what was that hard tribalsong he played earlier on (like 4th or 5th song) that had "sound of the drum", i know its not Suzanne Palmer's "sound of the drum, this was more hard house and really dark... ne1 knmow?

I'd agree with the Avalon seeming to get better comment. I haven't been there since last fall because my girlfriend refuses to go because she can't stand the crowd. I went for Bad Boy Bill and Donald Glaude a few weeks ago when she was out of town and had a good enough time that she agreed to go last night. We both had a blast. We didn't spend much time on the main floor, though, as we wanted to keep clear of all the kiddies trying to get me to buy them beer and the old men trying to grope her.

Tony Draper was actually decent, which surprised me, as I'd heard so many complaints about him in the past. String of Life to close his set was amazing. Jules dropped a lot of tracks I didn't know (or at least remember), but I do recall hearing a couple of Tiesto tracks, Pump Up the Jam (I just can't seem to escape that track lately), and the tracks previously mentioned.

Lastly, some "Night of 1000 Pornstars." If they're going to advertise an event that's going to turn a lot of people off to the idea of going (specifically, my girlfriend), they should at least deliver the girls. The girls dancing on the blocks on the floor looked like the normal go-go dancers and didn't look familiar from any pornos that I've seen lately. Then again, maybe the pornstars were in the hip hop room. I'd advise that Avalon just stick to the music and forget the pornstar and Girls Gone Wild parties. It just ends up bringing in more guys who are going to harass girls because sex is the party theme, so the girls have to skip hearing good DJs because they don't want to deal with it.
