yep yep .. spurs in the finals ..
wooh! .. but it was an uphill climb during that match .. phoenix kept trying to fight back, but san antonio was holding ground .. i was hoping for big game rob to close the door on phoenix, but it was none other than bruce bowen, the silent assassin ..

but i have high hopes for phoenix in the future if they keep nash, stoudemire, and joe johnson intact .. they can deal marion and richardson to other teams for some good bench people, which they truly need at the moment .. they can pick up some good veterans for cheap to fill the starter roles .. those that are big and physical, and also have some years under their belt .. like a dale davis, theo ratliff, etc ...

but when i first saw amare stoudemire play as a rookie back in 2002-3 season, i was like wow! .. this guy is going to be a superstar someday .. and look at him now .. he is having is way on the paint .. he really improved on his jump shot, compared to last season .. i am sure he is going to work on his defense this year .. don't be surprised if he is voted mvp next year, because of his strong numbers ..

now i wonder where this side of amare's basketball skills were during olympics ... .. the us team surely needed that type of energy to beat their opponents ..

amare had very limited playing time during the olympics due to the fact that he was the backup to the best big man in the world, obviously im talking about tim duncan...
actually stoudemire was complaining on an interview the other day that he's proven everyone that he should have taken some of duncan's playing time during the olympics...but to me, duncan was the only player on that US team that came out to play...

ah! .. we have an ol' schooler rolling in these boards eh ? .. hahahah .. :stongue: :stongue: ..

but yeah amare's minutes were limited during the olympics, and i can understand his moaning and grouchiness with his limited playing time, and his age and everything ... but being a professional, he should know that when you are in a group of big professionals like him, you eventually will be pushed down behind another person of the same position, but plays that position a nab better than you ..

you will have to gut it out, and play out the best of whatever minutes you got .. but there is a big difference between amare of last year, and this year .. this year, he doesn't need to play a couple of minutes in order to get his shot going .. he can just step on the floor, and do what he does best .. get in the post, and have his way ..

i, like many nba gurus who follow basketball to the pure second, expect big things from him next year ..:)

if Amare develops a nice 15 to 20 ft. consistent shot he will be ahead of Garnett in the who is better column

haha well in the mid 90s when i was going through school it was pretty big here, we would have nba action on the weekends and the finals series on tv but now its all on cable which still isnt as big as in america. i used to get the upper deck cards and stuff. i loved hakeem olajuwon, he was my favourite when i was watching :)

kewl .. pretty nice that you were an olajuwon fan during that time, even when his rockets made the finals in 1986, and was a big phenomenon back in the late 80s .. .. and also during that time, it was the "shaq and penny" show also .. ... hahhahaha .. kidding ..

houston was awesome back then .. of course they had kenny "the jet" smith (commentator for TNT now) and "big rob horry" ! .. and clyde "the glide" and sam "i am " cassell .. this was when cassell made his breakthrough to the nba, and was noticed ..

but spurs-pistons in the finals .. woo!

Horry was freakin awesome back then, and it was funny how much he looked like the fresh prince Will Smith.

Rockets made alot of shooters look bad, playing them killed nick anderson and Dennis Scotts careers. As for Horry man is there anybody else with the game on the line that you would want shooting that last shot besides jordan of course.horry for some reason comes out of his season long hibernation in June and becomes a money player.
