REVIEW: Danny T @ Century Room

Well what can i say, i started out at Peel Pub after work, and then made my way to Tooney Tuesday's at the Skydome for the jays game, they won.
I then headed to Century room at about 10:15pm, i get to the door, im asked who im with, i say nobody, and then i am asked my age, i say 21, i put forth my ID, and i am refused.
Did she look at my age and miscalculate? no. I am under 25, and therefore not fit for the club. I am currently 21, soon to be 22. She didnt even want to look at my ID. she said i am under 25 and thats all that matters. I ask if they are even allowed to do this, she said, its not up to her, its up to the manager.
I then ask if its because i look young, she then breaks and says yes, thats exactly what it is. At this point i get a couple of bouncers look my way, because it seemed as if i was making trouble. I then said my peace, and made my way away from the club.
The funny thing is, Danny wasnt even confirmed to play. I asked her, and she said, he will show up, but its not certain if he will play.
Well you Century club, and you management, you will never get my business. |

Just got back from the century room... Danny T never showed, but it was still good times. Don't get me wrong, the club was everything I hated in that it represented a pretentious class of people, nonetheless the tunes were not bad (if a little cheesy, but there was a good variety of EDM, including some interesting mash-ups, and some rock). The party was made by the good company in attendance: Neeta, Fahad, Simon et les autres... GOOD TIMES.
Too bad Danny T never showed.. feck! |

This event doesn't deserve a review thread...
That in sucks about you guys saying that it was only guestlist...totally stupid of them if they suddenly changed their policy after 10:40 pm (after I got there) but still not worth it...no Danny T (at least until 2:15 am)...
Picked Simon (SurrJRS) up at about 10:30 after leaving work and we were there by 10:40. Paid our $10 each at the door, saw it was empty, had a drink and went back out for some food (hadn't eaten dinner yet).
We came back about 11:15ish and the place was swinging. No line up or anything; there was NO ONE at the entrance. We go in and we met up with AwakenedAddict (not sure about his experience with the guestlist thing) and VoodooChick (Nita-sp?). Simon kept repeating that he was gonna kill Graham for not showing!!! LOL!!! That's REALLY stupid if you came and that happened...I was also looking forward to meeting Orko...did they REALLY deny you guys?!?!
Anyway, music sucked serious ass...hardly danced for more than 2 seconds at a time...saw and met a few cool people.
One girl, Zoe, was one of the last people at the Docks for Danny T so we recognized eachother instantly...another girl (can't remember her name) was also there from DT...quite a few were actually but only those two from the dying minutes...I met James, the HUGE oriental dude who I think is the head bouncer at Guv. I was talking to him for a bit about the security at Guv and how anal they are yet people still have tons of pot inside....LOL without him knowing that I'm a TA he said go to "tranceaddict.com" to find out how people sneak in!!! LOL!!! Made me laugh...nice rep, folks!!! ;) :haha:
Aside from that really boring and uneventful...oh yeah there was also this chick named Eva who handed out free passes for Friday May 27 at the Mod Club...lol $10 or free b4 midnight...will NOT be going to that one..and this other guy, "Alan" gave me a flyer for "Seen" at the Lily Lounge for Thursdays.
Music...3 words: hip-hop was played. LOL just as I heard the first hip-hop song AwakenedAddict was like, "I'm outta here"! LOL!!!
Oh well, glad to have met Danny T at the real deal...none of this loungin' around crap. Poor Simon was trying to bust a move to make up for his Docks loss but the vibe just wasn't there...target rich environment, though, MORAL HAZARD, if you know what I mean ;) shoulda tried making it ...:p
P.S. I wrote the above without seeing there was already a review thread...Orko that woman was plain full of ...there were a couple of girls in there that said they were 20 when asked what their age was by this sleazy gino I was standing next to... |

well- it was nice to run into awakenedaddict,fayraree,surrjs (sp). always nice to c fimiliar faces at unfimiliar places:eek: oh gawd- i felt so out of place. the bling-bling was out in full force and I forgot my diamonds at home. Nice enough of the bouncer to let the 8 of us in without guestlist as THAT was apparently the ticket in. anyway waited till about 2 or 2.30 when the sucky DJ played guns and roses and that was it, i left :(
and danny was nowhere to be seen. apparently he was ill. oh well- no worries as i am content with the 11 hours I spent at the docks.
until next time, MR. DJ- you wouldn't have enjoyed the crowd anyways.

A) he should look at his bouncers 'off the record incomes' to see how gets in, and
B) pot is really the least of anyone's concerns, when you've got Asians dropping like flies on K in there, who are mostly responsible for reason A above. |

I ended up having some other, higher priority $hit to deal with last night. By the time I was done I just wasn't in the party mood. Sounds like a good thing too.... me + 3E + Hip-hop = insane angry ranting, which inevitably leads to my sketchy ass being thrown out to mingle with the public at large.... not a good thing.
Sorry to hear everyone's night sucked. The good news is I wasn't there. The better news is that I'll be even more primed for Lawrence on the 11th! |

i know she was full of . I had had a good time already that night, before i got there so i wasnt too disappointed. And after she said, that Danny is expected to come, but not play, i didnt care anymore.
Either way, yes this type of establishment is exactly what i hate about the snooty crowd. THe girl at the door may have had the brain power of a 4 year old, considering she couldnt even think of a reasonable answer for my questions, but in the end she had the power. My friends were very suprised i would go to a place which makes you dress up, and after tonight, im not doing it again. Im stickin to my guns and just going where i can be myself, crappy clothes and all.
btw - i showed up by myself. |
