Well, not ban but definitely regulate a lot better...all these houses burning down over the weekend...really sad stuff! :( |

| I'd want them banned too if my house burnt down as a result of mischievious firework usage. |

I have a better idea... put people who break the current laws in jail. Such as those who sell to underage and parents who let kids use them.
Thats how it used to work! |

I don't think that's logical.
They can't have officers standing guard enforcing this. It probably takes a lot less manpower to try and catch them after the crime has been committed.
They also can't have authorities monitoring homes to make sure that parent's aren't giving them to their kids.
Also, that's assuming that underage kids are the culprit. What about the people between the ages of 18-25?
Stupidity has no age.
Plus, our police force is (apparently) already understaffed. |

My area is in retarded.
A bunch of the local thugs were running around shooting fireworks at eachother, and at passing cars. YOu probably heard it on the news, but they talked about a different area. Same thing happend here.
I was HOPING one of them would get hit like right in the face. |

I was at the Ashbridges Bay display on Monday, and a bigger group of idiots I haven't seen in along time.
The minute I hit the lakeshore and Leslie, there were numerous people setting off their own fireworks, and not the small ones either. on multiple occassions they would topple on their side and fire sideways.
Coming back from the display one group of douchebags decided it's be a great idea to plant one on the thin strip of grass between the walkway and roadway. Sure enough it toppled and fired directly infront of me, almost hitting a family a few feet ahead of me. If I didn't pull the two little girls ahead of me back by their shirts (their parents were chatting and a few feet behind) they would have gotten it full-on in the face.
Quite frankly if you can't set a fire in the city limits, you shouldn't be allowed fireworks either. |

No this is why parents should go to jail if their kids are caught burning things down with fireworks. I think they would give a damn then. Why should I as a lw abiding citizen always suffer because idiot is a bad parent?

then they deserve what they get.

you cant legislate common sense either. Im sick of how the government increasingly is becoming our legal guardians. Deal with the offenders and let 99% majority be adults.

thats not my fault... maybe they should hire more police then. If the police are understaffed u think they are going to respond to any call about fireworks unless a fire is started? |

How then has this not been an issue until now?
I find it a strange coincidence that within a span of 3 or 4 years everything is now a huge problem. Meanwhile we have lived with pitbulls, fireworks, sushi, smoking etc etc for years and no one complained.
So what has changed? the act or the reaction? Id say the reaction. People are so intolerant of others in the general public now and it sickens me. |

^I agree.
It does not help that stupid people seem to be more prevalent also.
Less patience with stupidity and lack of common sense.
I mean, what kind of idiot thinks shooting fireworks at each other is funny? |
