| You and your friends could start a club night. I find it hard to believe that an entire country has no Trance scene... Maybe you have to dig deeper to find it? |

1. You make contacts with everyone and you become something actually worth while // a good producer/dj/promoter
2. Creating an industry? At the local level? Work on things yourself and gets things started! FFS! |

well. do you have friends that are into trance? if so, that's a start. they'll have froiends, and those friend always have friends.
i recommend you start a club night, normally, you'd need some seed money to rent the club and whatnot, and since you're not really sure how a trance scene will be taken in the egypt crowd, you could do an event at low-risk.
here's what i did once:
found a bar that was basically near bankrupt. talked to the manager, we basically worked out that to bring some people to his bar, we'd throw an event. he was willing to sell his soul to satan in order to get some assess in the seats, tso as a test run, he gave us the bar. all winnings from cover price at the door was ours, the bar winnings were his, and we provided the DJs, and DJ gear, he provided the soundsystem.
result? an afterparty with 350 people in a small bar. it worked out well. not really money-wise, since we had no sponsors, so our costs cut out profits badly, but the manager was happy because people were in the bar, drinking. and so were we because the event was successful. we were doing it as an experiment, not to make money.
you could do something like this maybe, and see if people go. just print out flyers, give it to friends, send e-mails, and see if people are interested and go. if they do, and you have a nice turn out, you could consider starting a clubnight. once or twice a month, is good enough to get a scene started. |

I hear you on the scene being dead. But who makes the scene other then yourself?
It's quite pitiful to complain about it constantly but not try to make a change.
Now I'm curious as to what Soliman is doing and if he's truly trying to start something if so respect to him. |

| Maybe you could start with more popular house tracks and then move over to trance later in the night if you have a club event. Trance is too unfamiliar for a lot of people to like it immediately, they might need to listen to it a few times. |

Thanks alot guys for all your info.
I tried throwing a party once...
I started playing house tracks and layering some a capella's on trance tracks but then i moved on to melodic trance then a few ppl came up to me and asked for r&b.I had to udg bags full but not 1 rnb track so they got annoyed and left from a party of like 100 40 drunk ppl were left. I didn't loose money but i really felt like i was the only one that like trance in egypt or something.Damn that hurt. That's why i was thinking of doing a mix cd so i could kinda introduce the ppl trance...
I'm gettin fockin desparate overhere.
But i swear before i die or go death (wich ever comes first)
i'd have tried everything to create a trance culture
peace,

You think success ever comes easilly?
You will fail many many MANY more times before you succeeded but you will eventually.
Don't give it up.
In regards to the mix cd I wasn't sure why you were asking but as far as commercial application don't even consider it at this stage you'll obviously get nowhere.
Just make a quality demo cd mixing trance and house together maybe. Hand these cds out to people and such. There are ways to getting people to like your stuff and one of the main ways is to expose them to it. |
