Yeah, I am a fan if italo disco alright, own a bunch of CDs and MP3s. Not as much as a fan as Karim is, but I like it a lot anyhow. I cant really put up any tracks on this thread, not only I am not good with the dates for them, but there's so much good italo disco out there, the list is sooo long ...

think of italo disco as progressive synthpop LOL yeah there is alot out there even though there were only about 3 huge producers during that era

there's no way in hell im letting the final countdown in, for one it'll draw an ingnorant vote from people who only that track in the entire poll, and besides, it's considered rock by most.

toto is another thing reffered to as rock, even though i myself dont know that track, its not gonna be in the poll.

the rest seem to be synthpop at best, i'm not sure yet about those, especially considering how far back you went with some of them in terms of years.

lol yeha thats iffy.. but hten again in hte last contest it was U2 that won.. so it would only be fair.. at least final countdown has some live synth action going on LOL

by the way thats the only track in that list thats 1986
Subey
Front 242 - W.Y.H.I.W.Y.G.
New Order - Bizarre Love Triangle

The beginning to that Final Countdown track is absolutely amazing. Right up until the drums hit ... someone should do like a electronic remake of that tune using the best synth parts of it, and implement them with other electronic music sounds to make a one awesome tune.

Cant really describe any better of what I wish was done with that tune.

One thing for sure, I got tons of respect for 80s rock artists (several of them), for playing actual good rock music with lots of talent, and using synthesizers .... so sweet. For example, I love that 'Jump' tune by Van Halen. The synth work for it is absolutely incredible.

Man, I love Bananarama to the day. I like everything about them, mostly the voice, the amazing :eyes: :eyespop: 80s hair style and clothes ... the beautiful faces, the cute dancing ... everything everything. I own lots of their tunes, even their 90s stuff, particularly EVERY SHADE OF BLUE track ... :eyespop:

that's the thing, i screwed up in the 1987 one by allowing pop music in.
as it turned out, i was dissapointed with the community for choosing u2 over some of the most beautiful edm tracks to date, and with myself for allowing it in at all.

i'm trying not to repeat the same mistake here.

actually U2 winning last competition wasn't fair. what would be fair is no pop music allowed. why? you wouldn't have britney spears win the tranceaddict track of the year 2005 would you? i didn't think so.

why couldn't you put britney there? As the Rush comes, won (i think). Wasnt stuff like Oceanlab - Satellite up there as well?

nobody votes for britney in 2k4 because everyone 'hates pop music', but everyone votes for pop music in anything before 1998 because that's the only thing they know, hence everyone is stupid.

if not "hates pop music" then "favors 'underground' music more than pop music".
