you missed my point. First off, im sure there are tons of people on the board that still love u2. I listen to them a good amount my self. And I dont think it has anything to do with hating pop, most just like your "deeper more intricate" (not really) tracks. Also when you compair U2 in the 1980's to stuff today, it does not sound too dated, which is why it is easy to vote for them. Im sure plenty of U2 tracks are in peoples top 100 or so favorite songs. I don't think its quite the same with Britney...
Second ATRC/Satellite are imo on the same level as some Britneys stuff. Not saying that any of them are good or bad productions. But they did recieve votes/won track of the year... |

not poppy?
Above & beyond - No one on Earth
Down through the dark trees
you came to save me
You're so ugly and you're so beautiful,
you're like no one on Earth... could be
Take me home
Let me be the one
All of my life I've been waiting
for you
I wanna be the one that you take home
Let me be the one 'cause I'm so lonely
Take me home
with you
No one on Earth knows me like you do
Take me home
In time you'll love me like one of your own
so come on...
Take me home
with you
No one on Earth knows me like you do
Take me home
In time you'll love me like one of your own
so come on...
Take, take me home
with you
No one on Earth knows me like you do
La la la la....I'm going home

My love is like first steps in this snow, baby,
I follow you everywhere you go, baby.
The pain as light has come to wake you
But you will never realize
That I inspire the dreams that guide you baby.
I follow the winds that bring the cold, baby,
I light a fire in your soul, baby.
The lightest touch of feathers falling
My love might be invisible
But I inspire the dreams that guide you, baby
You're a half a world away
But in my mind I whisper every single word you say.
And before you sleep at night
You pray to me, your lucky star, your singing satellite.
Your singing satellite
You say a prayer
You say a prayer
You're a half a world away
But in my mind I whisper every single word you say.
And before you sleep at night
You pray to me, your lucky star, your singing satellite.
You're a half a world away
But in my mind I whisper every single word you say.
And before you sleep at night
You pray to me, your lucky star, your singing satellite.
Ridgewalkers feat. El "Find"
They always leave the best 'till last
Have understanding, no questions asked
You find yourself in what you see
You found yourself in me..
You found yourself in me..
The day is short, the night is cool
And this night, it was made for fools
You won't find fools like me and you
I found myself in you..
You found.. yourself..
You found.. yourself..

i didnt think it was an opinion, look at the lyrics...
now i know there are instrumentals of these and they are quite good, but britney has holden remixes as well that people seem to like... |

i personally think we should just limit it to 1986 cause there were soo many more tracks that were good frm the past.. kraftwerk would probably win easily as well (judgeing by quality per year)
for 1986 again

i've decided (after deliberation with some of you) to keep the bar to 1986, not older stuff.
btw, where are all the people who said they have stuff to add back when the 87 one was taking place :conf: |
