The only other bar I've been to is Horseshoe Tavern on Queen & Spadina. Went to watch a local band, Shaker, who are friends with Marty (friend of walkindude). The vibe was AWESOME!!!! I would definitely go back for the live entertainment. I hat going to bars though "for drinks"....there are only so many cokes I can down!!! :eyespop: |

When going out to bars, clubs, and top 40 spots, my amount I drink is directly proportional to the amount of fun I have. These nights are far less commong now than they used to be simply because I can either 1. Spend $60-$100 on drinks and cover to get myself piss drunk and buy a couple drinks for a lady during the course of the night or 2. Spend $15-$25 going to Boa party for longer, have a better time, and meet cooler people.
But in any event, those top 40 nights do have their moments, and some good nights have been had on the nights when we got so hammered we didn't know what music was playing. |

| IF by regular bar scene you're talking the top 40 clubs... I can't stand them. Druken hormone charged frat boys and gino's everywhere... creaping up behind women and grinding their penises against their asses without so much as a hello, like that's going to get them anywhere.... 's full of liquid courage carrying a chip on their shoulder's looking to get beat whatever poor meak looking unfortunate that happens to bump into them first.... Ginas dressed to the 9s running you over in order to get to the dance floor because the latest Nelly song just started... idiots doing the whiteman dance in the middle of the floor or even worse just in' standing there staring at some woman's ass.... not my kinda scene, I've out grown that . |

| I don't mind it...I said I like it because I don't hate it, and the other option doesn't fit either...but I do like to go out to other places too sometimes :) Check out the meat market...although everything's a meat market |

Maybe that's why I started taking notice of all the I hate about top 40 spots that I overlooked in the past.... I'm no longer on the market. |

non top 40 clubs are a meat market as well...system, guv, and etc...all have people trying to pick up...that's why i said everything's a meat market |

True but it is far more pronounced at top 40 clubs. Additionally, I've noted that people trying to pick up at the clubs you have mentioned are normally more subtle. Moreover, those interested in picking up are normally gone by 2:30.... coincidentally, that is when the night usually starts getting good IMO. |

I don't go to bars on a regular but when I do its good times. I go to places like Lot332(Friday), Mink (thursdays), Budo, century room ...yea they may all be MAINSTREAM but the crowd is older mature and if u go with more than two of you, Ur guaranteed GOOD TIMES!! That's just my opinion though...don't get me wrong I know for a fact there are places with a whole lotta loser/poser/gino/gina category ppl but I try to stay away from those places!!! lol
I thought after four years of partying in Kingston @ Uni, small club/bar scene ppl get hammered and start fights, I would hate the Toronto 'club scene' but I actually don't mind going once or twice a week after doing the 9-5 ish! :D |
