Super-Size Me? Super-Size THIS! (pg. 3)

Have you guys all missed the part where the scientist was ALSO eating 3 McDonalds meals a day (albeit, salads and "lighter choices" as well) and LOST 17 pounds. It's a testament to staying active rather than focusing on diet to lose weight.

But that's fine, keep blaming the food.

I LOVE this thread, and I <333333 McDicks.

The movie didnt affect me one bit. I still swear my my good ol'
Mickey D's.

Taste > nutritional value (I just happened to think McDonalds tastes sooooooo good)

Anyways, I can agree educating ppl that McDonalds is and can be very unhealthy is not a bad thing (often u have ot be extreme to get a msg accross in todays world), but yet you DO have to recognize about the one-sidedness of the film and how sensationalized it is, as previously commented on.

Jay is right, moderation is key! most would be un-good for your body if ONLY they were consumed. i dont think anyone is advocating consuming soley a mcdonalds diet. exercise, something GREAT for your body regardless of your healthy or unhealthy eating habbits and simply ensure your diet is balanced, etc. I mean, if you ate a balanced diet and got in all your required food groups and stuff which is good for your body to have daily, its not like (i dont believe) then eating mcdonalds on top of that will detract from the good u ate before -- sure its more u gotta burn off, but you already ensured u pumped your body full of the foods it DOES need to maintain itself well.

I loved this movie!

But seriously, way before 'Super-size Me' had been released I still felt sick when I had mickey d's, or any fast food for that matter. Fast food in general is a guilty pleasure because it not only contains cholesterol, fat and sugar, it contains a gazillion preservatives.

The thing is what's the point of living if you don't indulge once in a while. I think it was just targeting those individuals who confine their diet to fast food, and to those who aren't active.

Just the thought of Mickey Ds makes me ill though :(

This movie was very one sided and sensationalistic. Im sure you can gain 24 lbs if you eat like a pig every day but no one is suggesting that an normal person would do that. Id like to see someone eat something considered "healthy" every day and gorge on it non stop for a month and see if they dont end up in the emergency ward.

Yes, but his point wasn't to slag McDonald's in particular.
That and there are people out there that do eat McDee's 3 times a day with same amout of exercise he did in the movie.
I don't understand how anyone can say he was "sensationalist" when all he did was let the doctors do their work and left it up to us to make our own conclusions. :conf:

I wouldn't start eating fast food when you're dieting because of this guy.. the majority of people who work out don't get any results because they are lazy where it counts.. their diet. McDonalds is the perfect food for gaining fat.

Mc Donalds is not only bad food, but also bad culture. :whip:

marketing for youngings is evil :whip:
