yeah i know what you're saying, but you just can't expect everyone to break out of the grasp of Hollywoodism and venture out to independent or classic and foreign movies for enjoyment. Which is sad, because a hell of a lot of great films come out every year in different countries that really deserve to be recognized, but Hollywood refuses to distribute them and instead pumps out the same old tripe every year.
I guess it's a matter of expanding one's horizons but you can't fault people for conforming to the Hollywood studio system's propoganda. |

Wolfgang Peterson directed The Neverending Story, although his claim to fame was Das Boot (1981). He's still around but making big-budget blockbusters like The Perfect Storm, Troy and Air Force One. |
