When does a song become a classic
View this Thread in Original format

I was just wondering when people consider a song to be a classic?

Must it be a floor filler and get played to death first or can it gradually become a classic over time?

Is it necessary for it to be around a certain amount of time prior to becoming a classic or can you tell it will ultimately become one?

Are there any tracks at the present you feel will turn into great classics?

When a year or more later a DJ drops it and the crowd goes just as nuts as it did in the peak of it's original lifespan.

A classic is something that will always be fresh to you. You won't listen to it for a week or a month and then get tired of it. It's something that you can dig up in a year from now and it can become your favourite track again just like when it was months or years before.

Lets say you are on a date. You have a great time and you are now walking back to your car cos the girl/guy ( depending on your sexuality and sexual prefrences )has invited you back to their place. You pass through a cheesy pizza joint and you see bunch of youngins behind the counter and suddenly you hear a track that you just love and you'r legs starting moving and your bootay starts shaking. You'r date tells ya " C'mon lets go " and you say " hold on a sec " and then date says " no let's go now " and you say " no u go, i gotta dance to ma jam here ".

That track my friend has become a classic.

I'm sorry that my homosexual comment troubled you. I just wouldn't ditch a hot date because I heard a song in public that the people around are likely thinking is . I can listen to it at home as opposed to leaving some chick to hear a song on some kids portable CD player. The track in a "cheesy pizza place" played in the background is probably just Sandstorm in which case I'd save my pride instead of staying there and jerking off at home.

If it's Bubba you're talking about then it might be one of your internet friends, the only one left after you left the rest at Pizza Hut because you heard Sandstorm.

Loool naw its quite alright. I wasnt troubled at all, was just tryin to start with ya :P. and i never said it was a hot date. I just said the date went well and we had a good time. The track was Kyoto by Ferry. And it was on nice stereo at ginos pizza on south beach. To us Miami folks Ginos pizza is a cheesy pizza joint. But yea i agree with you if it was sandstorm or angel falls or launch i would have kept walking. I guess it's just the weirdo in me.

I guess I should have picked up on her not being a hot date by the fact that you took her to Gino's Pizza :tongue2
