my whole issue with this is...DONT BUY THE 50 DOLLAR MUFFLER FROM EBAY!!! thats the whole point of fixing up your car...saving the $$$ and to buy GOOD parts, not shotty ones just to have that exhaust sound. ive seen civics that have 300+ hp, i got a buddy who has a turbo charged mr2 that can beat stock corvettes. so its not like i hate all imports. I just hate MOST of them.
the point is...if your gonna buy shotty cheap parts, you deserve to get a mouthful. its an embarrassment to you, and your car. but hey, be proud that you got a 50 dollar muffler that really doesnt do and props for spending your hard earned cash for a piece of when you can save up and buy a part that will last. |

just something you probably will never understand. all my buddies feel the same way I do. whats the point of fixing up your car if nothing is going to come out of it??? don't see a need or a want for it. and to all one his own. some people are anal over car parts, others are anal over clothes. everybody is going to have their own opinion. and as you can tell, im anal over people who have crappy sounding civics that are everywhere. |

He has respect for fast imports, or imports that have been made fast.
I too, find the need for 1.1 litre cars in the UK with a loud exhaust utterly stupid. It makes your car sound fast, but when the granny in her 1.8litre ford focus can effortlessly pull away from you at the lights, then you know there is something wrong there!
i'm sure i have big pants will have respect for someone who has turbocharged the B16a VTEC engine in their civic. |

damn f*ckin straight! finally. if you do a good job at fixing a car, regardless of what it is, i'll like it. saw a clip of a minivan destorying a supra...and I LOVE IT! btw...my buddy loves the cars in england...and i must say...they are pretty amazing.
nchs09...im beginning to get the feeling you might be one of those kids in a civic with the cheap intake and exhaust...only reason why i think your trying so hard. ;) and besides, fight your own internet fights |

We are inundated with that 1 litre big body kit stock Honda Civic rattly muffler tin can here in UK, because insurance is compulsory and the insurance companies got all the young petrolheads by the balls in the biggest price fixing racket of all time ... my flatmate (who's 24 and actually a pretty responsible guy, works as an airline copilot, not a chav at all) just recently got quoted £8,900 PER ANNUM insurance on a subaru impreza he was looking at buying. So he is going to have to go back to driving his bog standard Peugeot 106 1.1 litre (which he pays £800 per year for anyways) and wait til he's 30 I guess.
It sucks though ... back when I was that age and living in New Zealand I was driving a big -off Ford Falcon V8 surf wagon and paying about $NZ300 (about £110, $US200) for full cover on that. Most of the boy racers don't have insurance at all actually in New Zealand, doesn't really matter cos you can't sue people down there, the legal system doesn't allow for it. So if you crash into someone elses's Porsche and write the thing off and leave him in a wheelchair, woop de doo you're still only gonna be out of pocket by the value of the damage to your own car.
Anyway all you lame soft cocks arguing about the relative merits of Yank and jap cars need an education about who makes the best cars in the world ...

he didnt slap on a turbo. They came stock on the car. If he slapped on a single turbo or upgraded twins, with the money he has invested he would be in the 900-1000 HP range. Plus he ran that on pump gas.
OMG LOOK a $50 dollar fart can from e-bay along with the 2 foot tall ricer wing.

| long arguement short. Big pants, what people like is what they like. If they had sense enough to buy something to put on their car or in their room or on their body, then let them. You don't have to like it, but try to keep that to yourself. Maybe offer some CONSTRUCTIVE criticism instead of acting like a pompous jackass. I don't like hondas or most japanese import cars, but there are those who do. |

the way i look at it is this...im honest about it. if a fat chick asks if she looks good in a skirt, im going to say she looks fat. why lie about something? honesty is the best policy. if you got a crappy sounding car trying to go fast...hell, i'll be honest and say you got a crappy car. its that simple.
criticism can be based on how somebody takes it. to me, i feel like being honest is as constructive as you can get. to others, it might not be. it all depends on how anal you wanna take things. |
