I walked into work at 5.30am this morning and didnt see another living soul for 30 mins (except in cars of course but that doesnt count)

i like that feeling. i work overtime a lot and i love being the only person in the office after 5pm.
it also reminds me of when i used to drive home from visiting my friends up at college. i'd drive back home on a sunday night at 11pm or midnight, down a deserted parkway for 120 miles and not see one car the entire way. especially during the wintertime it was so serene and peaceful, doing 70mph down the road through all the snow covered trees in the woods. heh, my mom used to get so mad at me for doing that... "what if your car breaks down or you run off the road! you're going to die in the snow out there all alone and no one will find you!" |

| My office is a regular 9-5 affair, so sometimes I'll come in by 6. The lights are dimmed, and the place is deserted. I f*** around, play pool, watch tv, snooze for a bit, then...ahem...work, that is to say surf. |

i have to get here by 8 to get a parking space. it's a big problem for me cause i am not a morning person.
but there are people here 24 hours a day, every day. cause it's a manufacturing site. but i like being here in the middle of the night when it's only production people and security. it's kind of peaceful. |

| I work alone all day, unitl a customer or sales person walks in. starting at 10 am though, kinda feels like 1/2 the days already gone by. |

the same thing happens to me when i take a crap. my record is 90 minutes without seeing another living soul.
seriously though, i used to get to school very early in the morning and for about an hour there would be absolutely nobody, anywhere. the only sound was the humming of two large water tank machine things near one of the bathrooms. it was kind of fun, as if i was walking around inside myself |
