| The DJs job is make the crowd go off (unless warm up), what a prick. No excuses about venue being too small people pay money to see these DJs and when they play slow the whole night it sucks (through a bottle at the pricks head) |

You went to see marco v expecting a rip-roaring tech-trance set like he used to play?
Well he's gone to now IMO. Just chugging along with the prog boom like many other djs. Now he's changed his style i dont think there is a single commercial dj i would like to and can see in the UK anymore. |

| Perhaps the promoter should have done a bit of research in the first place, and he wouldn't have been left looking a bit of a numpty. Marco V has been playing like this for quite some time now. |

AVB is rightfully...
...one of the best DJs in the world.

AVB does it again!
This album showcases some of the best trax that trance has to offer right now. The only thing better than the trax themselves is the mix by Armin. Fantastic!

Not bad
Not bad for a trance cd considering how bad trance cds are these days. Disc one has some descent vocal tracks and trace tunes and disc two seems a little more upbeat. In the end tho the trance never really demands a second listening. It gets boring after one listening, not that the disc is bad but becuz trance just gets that way.

A Flawlessly Mixed Collection Of Trance!
Dutch mixmaster Armin Van Buuren's "State Of Trance 2005" is every bit as good as last year's "State Of Trance 2004" and is again a flawless mix of melodic and progressive trance. The first disc is the "light" side and includes mostly beautiful melodic trance. Examples are "Wasting" by Hidden Logic, "First Time" by Markus Schultz, Max Graham's "I Know You're There", Armin Van Buuren's "Shivers" plus more. The second disc is the "dark" side and is mostly progressive trance. Fine examples are Peter Martin's "Simply Blue", Andy Moor's "Halycon", Gabriel & Dresden's "Arcadia", and Recluses "Emtional Void" plus more. If you enjoy listening to Tiesto, Ferry Corsten and Paul Van Dyk then this 2-cd compilation won't disappoint!

Well Done
Very nice to hear the progrssion in the music. With tracks like Ballerina and Perfect Silence (remix); there is no reason this won't be a success.

So I've seen Marco V one other time about a year ago when he came here to Seattle. He blew the roof off as myself and everyone I was with expected him to do. So naturally when we saw he was coming back again this past May, we went expecting to hear Marco V play as he normally does. So the opening Djs, a couple of friends of mine, warm him up very nicely, around 133-135BPM.
Marco V comes on at midnight, everyone is excited. 20 minutes go by and I'm wondering whats the hold up. To make a long story short, he kept the tempo the same, in the low 130s, and played house music the entire night. Didn't play a single one of his own productions. Everyone was kind of shocked. Even the promoter at the end of the night approached Marco V and said, "What was that all about?" His repsonse, "This place isn't big enough for me to blow it up." The place had a good 200 people there. I've seen many a DJ in the past blow the same place up. Not sure why he felt he couldn't. Anyone else experience something like this? |
what a complete douchebag.
sasha, yes that's right, SASHA played XPANDER when i saw him at a <100 person show in NEW ORLEANS on his AIRDRAWNDAGGER tour. i mean , who does marco v think he is. i do not stand for dj's ting on small venues. |

maybe cause he did not get the feeling to pump it?:conf: Isn't that why you hire a DJ and not play a cd? Why question what he plays as long has he plays it well?
see this is what is wrong with EDM.
People get dissapointed when DJs play a different style from what they go see them for. If Armin didnt play cheesy trance, or if Ferry didnt play electro people get mad. :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: Then some people wonder why djs play the same stuff. |
