My old roommate used to always tell me and my friends that we should just "grab her ", when referring to women. I'd respond, "That's alright. You've got your style, and I've got mine.". :p

It depends on the way it's done. Sometimes when guys check me out, I feel like a piece of meat. Try and be tasteful; don't lean back and do the elevator and then murmer "mmmmm mmmmm". That right pisses me off, and the next who does it is going to get an earful.

If you're just looking, whatever.

When I was in DR I threw on a mixed CD that I made and had fun with it, when I was done, alot of the Dominican native's told me I should try to get a gig at Abacuss (sp?). In any case, they were cool peoples. :p

We dont mind, only if you're cute. and then we may stare back. :eyespop:

I don't like to be stared at, so I try not to wear anything to get much attention.

A glance or a little smile and eye contact I can take but staring or breaking your neck to look is too much...that will illicit dirty looks from me no matter what age or what you look like.

But then I don't dress revealingly with my cheeks hanging out or the twins bobbing around.

I played in Santa Domingo, at a pier. I guess it was right across from the first point Colombus landed at. An old building that had been a prison at one point. I played with Iio and a couple of other Colorado djs. But a festival, that was supposed to happen the week before, ed it all up by having Sandra Collins for free. It was April 16th.

ahh . bad day indeed. that was the Mardi Gras type festival in an open street. i didn't go out that day because i had to stay home, it was my sister's bday, so i had to be all bored with her and her dumbass friends.

the festival did suck tho. i called up a couple of friends of mine to swing by my house so we could chill a bit and they took me up on the offer, rain and excess amount of... well, ty people, made the festival crap.

tough luck. you also seem to have gotten somewhat newbies to our, emm, testy scene, as promoters. which DJ were you? Kostas or Etienne? (going by what the promoters posted on a website, which now sounds even dodgier, as their saying the DJs were from South Africa and Greece, respectively, and you say they were from colorado. heh)

you spin trance i assume?

Vlad, yeah, abacus lounge. the only club we have here, at all. we do have more, of course, but that's the only EDM specific one, sadly. it's decent, has gone a bit downhill, as of late, but still has it's good nights.

... and this is what you call a thread hijack.

Neither. Kostas didn't go. Etain is a girl, originally, from South Africa that lives in Colorado (hence Colorado dj), and myself and Trajikk played, although we weren't on the marketing (note: this really pissed me off). My friend is a promoter here, and has hooked up with a guy named Angel out there to help promote some events. Trajikk and I, actually, paid our flights out there to play. Everything else was covered, but I was a bit disappointed to not have a flyer to put on my wall, and with the other event and the rain, the turnout was pretty ty.

I used to play more trance, but I play more progressive and progressive with a melodic edge to it. Some may call it prog trance, but I beg to differ. The promoter almost kicked me off the decks for following Iio (trance) with more melodic/trancy tracks, early in my set. I played Mr. Brightside, Swing to Harmony, and something else that was melodic, fully intending on bringing it darker (I hear they like it darker and nastier there). He came up and I about punched him in the face. The rest of the set I played dark and banging prog, but I didn't enjoy myself as much as I would have had he not ed with me. The crowd seemed into the set, and I was on fire on the decks, but I had to fake smile up there.

I won some money gambling and met some cool people, as well as buying some nice clothes, which saved the trip for me, but I have mixed feelings about gigs in the DR now.

Vlad - I heard about Abacus, while we were there, but we didn't make it there. I think my friend Trajikk played there for an event though.
