oh man one time i said something really bad to this black cracked out bum who was harrassing me in south beach. he kept making references to the fact that i am a "skinny little white girl" and asking me if i wanted "chocolate in my milk" and he was like literally walking with me and saying, "i looove little white girls" and i was like, "yea well i don't like (insert bad racial slur), so off!" he was like, "yea u bla bla bla". he's lucky my group of friends (and bf was there too) were all ripped and sort of walking ahead of me trying to catch a cab and didn't know what was going on until i told them later. they would have ended up in jail that's for sure.
i know it was really bad of me to say, and i would never just throw out that term loosely (in fact, that was the first time i ever said that to someone and even though he deserved it i felt really guilty after) because i have some friends who are jamaican/black and they would probably hate me if they knew i said that, but it just seemed appropriate...i just wanted to say something really mean and degrading and make him feel the way he was making me feel, and that was the worse thing i could think of. that scum bag, i should have kicked him in the balls, but whatever...
but yea, catcalling is really annoying to me too...it's so tacky and immature. |

| why do i feel the beginning of a rant coming on haha...i dun think i mind guys looking/staring, but whatever you do, just do not make a sound. i despise being hollered at or given catcalls. do so and i will flick you off without even a backward glance. if you think a catcall is a way to give a girl a compliment, go take Social Etiquette 101. and at a club/bar, don't go grabbing or pinching a girl's ass just cuz its in front of you...and i say this kindly, please f*ck off and die. but back to the point of staring, i dun mind it, only because its the lesser of all evils. |

NiteMer, sucks A LOT. it is a real limted market in here, and because of that, you basically get kids with too much money, no vision and no musical concept, who think they can throw events. there are a couple of good promoters here. and others that are very extravagant, but still suuck ass.
i think i did catch wind of Trajikk spinning at abacus. didn't see him though. too bad you're only experience here had to be so bad. if you're every around here again, drop me a line, i have jam sessions with a few of the better local DJs at my house regularly, and sporadically throw an event or two.

Do you know a dj named Bryant Ortega? He and his buddy played that event, with us, and he did a pretty solid job, along with having some really good choons. |

I don't think so. I grew up an hour outside of the city and I think it's just a part of the NY attitude. Yes there are more people there, but you don't hear much catcalling here at all. One of the few people I've noticed doing it here, is originally from the Bronx. I saw a lot of it in Miami too. Not as much in Vegas, LA, Chicago or any of the other cities I've visited in the US. Even less of it in Norway. |

Hot women too. I just mean that I've never seen a lot of the overtly aggressive machismo in Norway as one might see in the US. Although I've seen a lot of drunk Norwegian guys that can't take the hint, when a girl's not interested. A little overpersistent in some cases. :p |

Yea sounds a lot like the Military. On the weekends you'll see that all the time around active duty posts. I live in NY and will agree there is a lot of cat calling. But the women..... it's so hard not to. |
