You're assuming that she can be "converted" at all trancearmada.
I mean, think about it from the other perspective. Would you fold so easily if someone tried to convert you to their style of music? |

OK I am sorry I don't mean to put anyone down, it's just that I really like her, and I think she would really apreciate the scene if I introduced her to it! |

I'd say take it easy, imagine that she'd be converting you to rock music, I'm sure u wouldn't be too impressed either :)
"Go with the flow" is always my advice, imagine you're at a rock festival or so and not really enjoying the music, even then u'd still have a good time if u were with people you like that DO enjoy the genre... tell her that and she'll get the picture i guess |

okay you got a rock chick here. I dun think she wants to hear "for an angel" you need to start her with something hard and crazy. Some Drums and Bass maybe (Dj dara, Dieselboy, Krust, Goldie) Or maybe some hard break beats (Madame Mercury, dj Icey, dj baby anne)or some hard trance or techno. I think she would enjoy this type of dance music more because it seems a little more angry like rock. Then maybe if you can catch her ear with some stuff like that. Maybe she might be able to appreciate the uplifting sounds as well. My girl doesn't really like uplifting trance, but she can stand it because she loves breakbeats because i got her into them (she still likes rock though). Hope this helps.....a little. |
dogma55's got it right on. my boyfriend likes heavy metal and he cringes at the slight hint of dance music. but one time he formatted his computer, everything was wiped out, and a cd he had from a friend contained some programs and Voodoo & Serano - Blood is Pumping. It was magic, he loved the song probably because of the hard beat, similar to metal. That's when I knew I had my chance to step him and convert him (I've been trying to do it for months). So I introduced all these songs to him, starting with hard trance, and it seems like he's opening up to it. So I suggest you start with some hard trance because its loud and fast and its probably the closest you can get to rock with any type of trance music |

my friend in Toronto is a thug and listens to Eminem, DMX, Dr. Dre and stuff like that.
One listen of dj tiesto - suburban train and rank 1 - airwave, and he was hooked :P
Try just playing some live sets by Tiesto or Paul Van Dyk while she's around, and maybe get her to agree to go a party, because raves tend to change anybody. |

If she's into pop, why not play here some remixes of pop hits, such as:
iio - Rapture (Riva mix)
Kosheen - Catch (ferry corsten mix)
Sash - With my own eyes (tandu mix)....etc, then maybe she can relate to them more ???? just a suggestion
.....i dunno if the originals were big over there :conf: |

lol!
I am really pissed that my family decided to move here 3 years ago. There is NO trance scene here. Even the occasional rave features no name hip hop DJs, playing on a pair of belt drive TTs and a Radio Shack mixer :(
Had I stayed in Toronto.... damn, I could be around people who actually know wtf trance is :P |
