Converting someone from Rock to Trance! HOW DO YOU DO IT???

OK I am seeing this girl, she is really nice and all but I can't stand some of the stuff she listens to. I.E. > WestLife, Guns & Roses, Korn, and lot's of other weird like that!
She tells me she does not like to dance, and hates music with a beat in it. So how would I go abouts converting her?
I got an idea of showing here some vids like 'better living through circutry' or 'groove' or 'human traffic'.
I asked here whether she would like to come to a party with me. She just seems to be a little scared, she says she like the ppl in the rave scene just not the music. She's like a rocker chick, but she is looks so cute and inocent. So what do I do???? Help me out!

I guess I could burn a couple of CD's with some classics of trance or something like that! what do u think?

Option 1: Well first of all... Make her your roommate. LOL

It really works because out of the seven people I live with at least 6 are getting used to my music.

Option 2: Start off with GOA or some ing hardcore, real hard, then slow down a little and let her get used to the real trance-zone!
Option 3: Live with it. All the girlfriends I've had didn't like my music either. What's wrong with those women!!??

oh, and for a solution: when she visits u or smth, just turn on some progressive or uplifting sounds, but dont play it hard, just softly on the background...

Hmm. Get her really stoned and show her some hardcore. :D
You can get some really trancey-stuff like E-Noid or Dj Promo or Endymion.. I'm not too sure if you can convert a hard rock/metal person into something like trance. It would be a progression IMO, get her into some techno even.. but I'd think you need an appreciation for electronica first.

She doesn't like music w/ a beat?? Every music has a time sig.. Rock and rap has 3/4 or something like that, doesn't it? no.. that's breakbeat..uhm..I have no clue. :D

Heh.. if you really wanna play dirty, get her to do some E and take her to a party.. that should open her eyes up to the scene and its music.

werd.

That's kind of out of the question at the moment. Plus she told me that she used to have this room mate, this room mate of hers was the biggest pill poper ever! She completely ed up her health. So basically she got a bad impression of what the culture is about. Not that there is anything wrong with drugs it's just that I don't think it's the best first impression of the culture.

first of all thanx to everyone for their responce.

I am thinking of playing some 'classic' HYBRID stuff, cause they do a hell of a job on their album. Combining all sort of stuff. But the other ed up thing is that she seems to like all kinds of music. (Other than Rap) but the more ed up thing is that she likes Garth Brooks (Country music crap).
I mean does she not like any decent music at all than? WTF.
The only thing we can agree on is 'Prodigy - Fat of the Land' so I am thinking of maybe introducing the rest of their albums to her. that's kind of how I got into electronic music with a lot of the Prodigy stuff, I am talking really old scholl stuff from them.

P.S. Also on the subject of prodigy, not that it's related in anyway to the subject here. Did you guys know that they are soon to release a new album 'Alway Outnumbered, Never Outguned'. Sometimes earlier next year, at least that's what I heard.

I'm not too sure about this quote, man. I don't associate drugs with this culture, I associate them with the people. Raving is about the music, dancing and checkin' out the DJ's... enjoying yourself. Drugs are a sidebar to that.. and to say that there is nothing wrong with them is entirely ignorant. Now, please don't take this as a personal attack, trancearmada, because it is not. :) This is a comment on how out of whack our scene has become. It's awful really. Last night at Ascension, I didn't see any ravers there. Sure, I saw people at a rave, but most of them weren't there because they enjoyed the music or they were looking forward to their fav DJ.. they were there because electronica 'trips them out' when they're t up on these drugs that have become so attached to the word 'rave'. I mean, aren't all of you tired of watching a bunch of people sitting on the floor, eyes rolling into the back of their heads because they took too much E, Keta/anything else?? I am. To death. There were maybe 300 people there last night (could be more), and I bet that 75% or more were t up on something. I saw the EMS there for "some reason", *gasp* could it be because some moron did too many drugs at a rave again? What do you see anymore when you look across the dancefloor? I see a bunch of 16, 17, 18 year old kids messed outta their minds, not paying attention to the music or DJ and dancing like idiots (not to insult one's dancing talent, but I think you know what I mean..)
How do we stop this ? Do any of you feel the same?
ahh.. stressed.

for your information I don't like the drugs in the culture, just that it's hard to escape it, because drugs are everywhere no matter what culture.
I hate those fukers my self, the ones that just come to the raves to pop pills, but some people actually enjoy the music more when they are on drugs. SO!

Yeah, it's been in the pipeline for a couple of years now. Let's hope it finally gets released:)

Dude, you're getting defensive. I wasn't talking at you. It was directed as my opinion to everyone else. Your statement just gave me a thesis. :)
I won't deny that the music sounds better when you drop, but I don't really need it. *shrug* I'm not preaching.. just.. venting.
But it isn't the culture that houses these drugs. It's the people. The drugs aren't at the rave when it starts. Someone makes the conscious decision to bring 50 hits of E with intent to distribute them around the party. If no one brought the drugs, then no one would have the drugs. I, myself, wouldn't care. It would be a good way to filter out all those damned twinks that mash out on the dancefloor. :D
