which is better?

Used Technics 1200mkII's in decent condition, that run well.

or

Brand new Stanton T.80's (from their new T-series)

Thanks in advance,
dartman
I would go with the Technic's. Unless they are totally beat to the Tech's are the way to go. I have MK2's and absolutely love them.

I would have to say the technics personally... the T.80's are simply not that good... i owned a pair of str8-80's that i got "cheep cheep" when i first started. For beginnners and people that dont know any better i guess there ok.... but they get old fast... The lack of torque and high W&F is quite noticeable and there all plastic.

Techs on the other hand havent changed in all there years... unless you want (supreme ripoff) mk5g's... But there is not much at all to go wrong with them... Not to mention if something did any turntable repairer around would take them in... Of course don't buy battered old peices of that you can see has turned its last turn...

I mean the only decks i would say have anything on techs are the stanton st.150's and vestax decks but now where talking new gear

Stantons are great, but 80s dont match techs, now 100's, 120's, and 150's do.

Something tells me we have a landslide on our hands

I have ten year old tech mk2 and it works as good as my brand new mk5s. So go for the techs.

I've owned my 1200's for 6 years now and they still perform like the first day i brought them home.

I've played on stantons, vestax's, gemini's, numarks, audio technica, the list goes on and on and I will always swear by technics.

Of course if you have a spare $20,000 layin around you could purchase a Kuzma Stabi XL Turntable...

Whoa! That's crazy!

Techs hands down, I've played on stantons just recently and god, did I miss my techs every second I had my hand on the stanton.
