Very cool guy, got his autograph and all that grand stuff. We were chilling in our skybox @ the baseball game when my brother poked me and told me "yo that's dave mirra" and pointed to the guy sitting in the box next to us. I know who he is but I had no idea what he looks like. Anyways ya it was him, he's in town shooting an Oxy commercial. Yay for T-Dot attracting celebrities.

And like the entire extreme sport world, he gained most of his mainstream fame through a video game release.

Dude, he was quite famous before they released Dave Mirra's BMX. If anything other than his talent got him his fame, it's the X-Games.

He wasn't a household name till the game. An X-game fan would prolly recognize the name, but not the MAINSTREAM world.

Don't get me wrong, these are wicked athletes that deserve more cred, but since these sports are relatively new, alot of the athletes don't exactly make the covers of sports illustrated.

Him and his publicist are both cool guys. I think I've seen him once at the X-Games and I knew he had a video game. My brother was seriously hyped though.

True enough. But the mainstream world is always the last to catch on, no surprise there :p
