whats your job nitemer??

i just got fired from my job 2 weeks ago. i was going to quit anyways, and the manager was actually surprised at how easy it was to let me go. when i walked out, i literally had a phat smile on my face. no more in bussing 60 seats and workin my ass off and feelin so under-appreciated. and gettin my ass chewed all the time for being overwhelmed by so many people. im just glad its over.

I work for a computer company. We're a multi-regional custom whitebox builder. This means we have a bunch of locations and build desktops, notebooks, servers, etc. I'm the Customer Service Rep, which really isn't what I do. I'm the back-up to the sales team, and I handle some accounts myself. This position was supposed to lead to a sales position, but our top guy, in this office, only makes $50K anyway (might sound like a lot, but he's top 10 in the company and that's pretty much e, for those numbers). I make $30K right now, which is less than I've made, since being a full-time student in college (4 years ago). I do a bunch of work, that is cake, but then they try to get me to do more that isn't in my job description, just because I'm more efficient and handle my work quickly. That's what pisses me off, and what will lead to my quitting shortly. I think Friday will be my last day, and then I just won't go anymore. Need to stay until then, at least, because I have a dentist appointment and want it to be covered. Plus, I'm on the border of 1 year, which will qualify me for unemployment.

I'll be going back to selling Cutco, so I won't really be unemployed, but I'll have the freedom to set my schedule and take some trips this summer. Between that and, hopefully, making some money promoting and djing, I should be alright.

Agreed, but I do have something to fall back on and I'm not worried about making ends meet. Just need to get out of this negative environment and find my (career) self-esteem again. Working a dead-end job takes all of positive energy away, while I'm at work anyway. I just don't want to subject myself to it anymore.

yea i just decided i need to move on, this isn't for me, dealing with customer service issues on a low level while thinking on a high level about a completely different, more complex, project. 85% of my work email is "can you fix this on amazon, can you do this on bn.com" in the middle of me writing a Use Case Scenario for a new software CRM implementation. I'm literally going to crack one of these days if i hear the same people asking me the same questions about the same damn thing. i'm ridding myself of all accounts, i want to work for management in a databasing/reporting and sales operations field. I'm goin into the office now and will report back what i demanded! unless i get a fork stuck in me lols...
