NEW YORK -- The New York Yankees will announce detailed plans Wednesday for a new $800 million ballpark, which would be built adjacent to the current Yankee Stadium and could be ready by the 2009 season....

| If you actually looked into it, Yankees Stadium is kinda falling apart. So them building a new one isnt exactly a new concept. I think the old one should be turned into a museum. |

yankee stadium is definitely not falling apart by all means :rolleyes:
having said that. when you take the history away from yankee stadium, it's really not that nice af a ballpark at all. the passageways are very narrow. you're farther away from the action than compared to other ballparks. (fenway, tropicana field, citizens bank park, sbc park, camden yards to name a few) you can see eyesores by the left field bleachers.
i'm just happy the new ballpark is still in the bronx and that they are bringing back the original yankee stadium look. |

The old stadium will be used for little league games...
And don't know the details of revenue sharing... heard this on ESPN 1050 -
By building a new stadium, the Yanks will be exempt from paying their revenue sharing obligations... which could mean a $300 million roster... crazy |

isn't the whole reason the yankees are building a new stadium because the mets are getting an olympic stadium??? |
