Why is it not ok?
I went to see Star wars 3, the two towers, and all matrix movies on my own. |

| It's OK if you don't have anybody who would go with you (Eg. you don't have the same taste than your friends/girlfriend/family) and you want to see the movie really bad. |

i was just thinking with girlfriend away and other friends finsihed uni then i might want to go on my own.
i just need to get over the feeling of looking like a friendless loser then i wont care.

There's a difference between that and going to a movie I think. Don't know how to explain it clearly though.
Went to the movies alone quite a few times when doing my traineeship in Belgium. Either just to relax and put my mind on something else, or because I really wanted to see that movie. Just as I went to the pub to watch football alone. Even went clubbing alone there.
I'd never go bowling by myself though. It's got a sort of 'group activity' feeling to it :) |

That's not the same. When you're bowling, you compete against other people, you talk to other people, you interact. When you go see a movie, you just sit there and watch a giant screen. Sure it's more fun when you have friends you can talk to before and after the movie, but it's still fun to watch it alone.
A better analogy would be...
Don't you ever watch TV by yourself? |

Nah, because you don't have to leave the confines of your home to watch the TV. So far more people are likely to watch TV by themselves. Maybe "Would you go to a restaurant by yourself" would be closer?
