What is with Presenting Artists?

I hate to admit this, but im obsessive compulsive about organized music. I like knowing the name of music and knowing the exact mix ect. I have a system of organization for my music and it has been the best way i have seen to organize music. My system is like so:

Artist - Song [Remix](Featuring)

Anyways i have noticed on a couple of occasions that some Trance, House or whatever it may be have the word Presents in it. For example Lange Presents Firewall - Sincere 2005 [Lange Mix] What does Present mean? Is it just like Featuring and is it the first or second artist who is doing the song?

Before i go id just like to know one more thing. Do the artist that present other artist do that just to get credit for a song or what is the deal with that?

Using your example, Lange actually is Firewall. Basically it's a way of getting the bigger named alias (ie. Lange) onto the same record; presumably to boost sales.

And Armin Van Buuren presents Perpetuous Dreamer??

Well, that works, cos it took discogs for me to realise Armin and Perpetuous Dreamer/Rising Star etc were one and the same...

Mmmm.... what about Matt Darey presents Mash Up ay?? Cos that's a group innit?

I think it's more to do with licensing issues on various labels.

Join the club. :p
I'm a perfectionist when it comes to file names, mp3 tags, tracklists and such.
And I have my own system as well. :tongue2

I don't think that's always the case.

Case in point: Libra Presents Taylor - "Anomaly- Calling Your Name"
Libra=BT alias, Taylor=Taylor. That was a joint production. Yet BT somehow presents Taylor. As in he's introducing him or featuring him..?
Confusing .

no, it's just Matt Darey.

an example you're probably after that doesn't make any sense is Markus Schulz presents Elevation.

I was gonna ask about that since I read somewhere that Markus Schulz doesn't actually produce the track at all. :conf:
DJ RJT
Markus Schulz pres. Elevation - Clear Blue

Jose Amnesia pres. Tiffany - Heaven Drops

In the first case, I'm pretty sure Markus just helped Elevation master his original track... As far as Jose Amnesia pres. Tiffany; no idea...

Yes, I've seen far too many people who think MS = Elevation, but it's simply not the case...

He was just helping a talented, but young producer, get his track out there...

So yes, Elevation = Mike, not Markus :D

alright i know i took a long time to post something but seriously im still confused...if im organizing something like Lange Pres. Firewall - Sincere 2005 [Lange Mix] how the hell should i organize it? should i get rid of lange and just put Firewall - Sincere 2005 [Lange Mix]?Im sry im being this way but i hate when this happens and it screws my way of organization up. I also hate when i dont have full songs but im starting to get used to that. Only with EDM will i allow that..preferably Trance and House etc.

Honestly I don't care anymore, my PC's sound has been ed for a while and I'm too lazy to get it fixed by my PC genius friends. I have not downloaded anything in ages on my PC and I could'nt care less about the correct mix name.
