Based on all these responces you know that a dog eats at one end, poops out the other and needs to be petted and played with.. Other then that you guys do not know about dogs imo.
First of all you SHOULD never hit and or hit an animal!! That is no way to train a dog to do want you want it to do. Instead it will make the animal more agressive and have more issues.
You voice goes a long way with animals. But do not "Yell" at them. You need to be frim in what you say and mean what you say.. but there is a diffence b/w yelling and being firm. If you dog listens praise him with a soft gental voice and treats if he does a "trick"
Now... Jack Russle's are talkers. These are the kind of dogs that will bark at anything! A bug, a rat, cats, trees, rocks, their own freaken shadow. And that is all they seem to do is bark bark bark bark bark ( they are really sweet doggies though) To get your dog to stop barken is going to take some time and paticence.
There are "Bark Colars" Some spay dogs in the face with something and some acctuly shock the animal if they bark. There is one on the market that you can recharge and when the dog barks the shock gets harder and harder. Yes it is painful when the shock is wrong but they will learn if they bark they get shocked, getting shocked hurts so they will put the 2 and 2 together. You can not keep it on the whole time. Use it for a week then take it off to see what happens if he starts barken again put the bark collar back on. Let your dog see it when you take it on and off.
There is also classes offered that can help you train your doggie.
Good luck!!! |

+1
Finally someone who knows what they are talking about.
Another option might be to mix vinegar and water in a spray bottle and spray it at his mouth area. But only use this for extreme situations and not that often. You only have to do it in the beginning of the treatment. And say "no" or some other response in a firm voice so that he correlates the bad behavior with your voice so that he learns to stop when you say the command. |

Next time anyone gets a dog thats a pup, when it barks ignore it,when someone is there at the dorr, and the lil pup is barking do not look at it,and ask the other person to mind the dog barking and not to pay attention to the dog,do not shout at thewm either if they bark, as they get older within only a few months they will learn that you do not respond to them with barks, and they then will believe as if you were deaf, and whats the point of barking if they cannot hear you.
Mate of mine taught there yorkie not to bark using that methos, the dog only ever barks now when he is being played with in the back garden alot, and its in the excitement of the activity.
Teach from young people teach from young.
As for you just wear ear muffs in bed,or get triple galzed windows, jobs a gudden. |
